A lot of the diamonique from QVC looks super real, esp if its set in real gold.
I KNOW! My mom is addicted to diamonique! She even ordered some rings for me to look at lol. Theyre coming on Friday!
My mom and I order a lot of diamonique from QVC. They just had a set for the special of the day about 2 days ago that I thought about ordering b/c it is like what i want for my wedding band. it was a set of 2 round channel set rings and a scattered stone ring. they can be worn separate or all together. No, I don't think it's bad if you get a fake for now (they have some really nice ones!) and you should definitely check out QVC! I was thinking of doing this myself!
My mom just called to tell me theyre coming on Friday! lol
I saw you write that before, I wasn't sure if that was the set you ordered or not! How exciting! I was debating whether to get it. You'll have to tell me how it is! LOL...I might get it to have as well, for the honeymoon, etc. Especially since FH was surprised the other night when I told him I wanted diamonds in my wedding band. He was shocked! He said don't you have enough? I thought you girls get plain bands! I'm like some do, but not usually these days and I want diamonds. So I might have to get them this way too, for now anyway!

I don' t think it's crazy at all. Seriously. Not one person will know unless you choose to point it out. I say save money where you can. It will be a nice gift for yourself down the road.
Thats what Im saying! They have rings that look EXACTLY like the wedding band I want. They dont look cheap at all.

I think that is very admirable of you to sacrifice what you want so that he can have something he wants. I do not think there is anything wrong with it... Even if you kept that band forever. It will symbolize that through thick and thing, good and bad, you didn't let anything, not even money, stand in the way of your love.
OMG, sounds like a Nicholas Sparks excerpt (not that I am comparing myself to him, I meant the sappiness, just in case someone gets the idea that I am an uppity, narcissistic biitch )

I know so many girls have answered already but I was just watching QVC last night and saw a BEAUTIFUL band. I wanted it for my own band but it sold out.
I have a diamonique e-ring and when I compare it to my real one, you can not tell the difference.
DEF get a Diamonique band.

Re: Would this be CRAZY?
nobody will ever know its diamonique - if you find one that you love than go for it - i was actually telling FH we should do the same thing.....unfortunately i got spoiled with my e-ring and now the wedding band i want is like at least 5K - and i would hate for him to spend 5K or more on a wedding band when i can just get a diamonique one that looks exactley the same......FH didnt like the idea that much - you would think the girl would have a problem with it! but FH doesnt want me to have a 'fake' ring - i said who cares, as long as its sparkly and beautiful!!
and seriously nobody will know! a friend of mine worked in a hair salon and wore diamonique to work everyday - it was almost the same as her real ering and band but she didnt want to wear the real thing to work - and i would have never known if she didnt tell me!

i think that the fact we are willing to get something less than the real thing - makes them want to get us the real thing even more....men!

Go for it. Dont put yourself into debt over a ring. Save the money and get the ring you really want when you have it. I think its a great idea! Helene

Okay so as you all know, I gave my two weeks at work so after next week I wont have a job. FH & I still havent purchased our rings and our wedding is 94 days away. I was thinking I would get a Diamonique wedding band for the wedding and after the wedding when we can afford it, Id get a real ring. Does that seem horrible to you all? I want FH to get the ring he wants and Im willing to sacrifice with a fake ring so he can get it. Would anyone else do this? Money is soooo tight!
Why dont you just get a plain gold band. Later on you can get a nice one.
Do you meanf or FH?? I kind of wanted to get him the ring he's in love with as his gift too.
If I were you I'd get a plain gold band -- they can be pretty cheap. Go upstairs at Tri-county. Then you can get a diamond band as an anniversary gift down the road, but can still wear your wedding band if you want to be a little less flashy, or when you go on vacation etc.
My only hesitation would be that I'd want to wear my wedding band forever, and not switch it out later. (I know many people do). I'll probably end up doing that anyway though since I want a diamond band and jews are supposed to get married in a plain band. I'll probably get married in my grandma's wedding ring and then swap my real band...
I feel the same about wanting to wear the band forever and not wanting to switch it later. I dont know, I still have a few months to decide and try and save...
WOW you are a really nice person....FH is very lucky!! What about getting a plain band and your wedding band for now and then getting a diamond one for anniversary.....many people do that whether money is tight or not. And then you have something to look forward to FYI fortunoff's has really nice plain white gold bands with some milgrain around the edges .. for good prices .. no more than $300, depending on the width of the band. Or you could try tri-county! GOOD LUCK!!

I don't see anything wrong with that, why not. At this rate, I may end up doing the same thing. That is a very nice thing of you to do and not at all crazy.
