Everytime it's someone's b-day at work they have a cake and card for that person usually in the afternoon and sometimes the people that leave before 12 b/c they are part time will suggest having the cake before they leave. (It depends if you're special to them or not) well, I know I am an adult and 31 years old today, but it's already going on 4:00 and no cake nothing, only three people said Happy Birthday to me at work today. I just think this is rude. My own superviser did not say a word to me and oh yea she is gone for the day, how nice right?

yes, it would hurt my feelings...same thing happened to me at work last year. It wasn't until 5:00 that it finally dawned on my coworkers that it was my bday - they ended up taking me out to lunch the next day, but it didn't feel as special to me cause it wasn't the real day. I sulked at my desk all day and almost burst into tears.
I'm ridiculously emotional though.
