Would you...
Would you bring your dad when you go to try on wedding dresses? I am planning on ordering my dress this weekend and would love to bring my dad. I feel bad that all of the wedding planning so far has been between me and my mom. However, my dad is one of those people that NEVER buys anything at full price. He's ALWAYS haggling, to the point where it's embarrassing. The consultant I worked with last time told me she'd be able to offer 10% off but I know my dad is going to try to bargain even more. My parents are paying for my dress so I understand why he would want to haggle but sometimes it's just ridiculous. My mom already told me I shouldn't bring him for this reason.
What should I do?

If you want to bring him I don't see why not! Maybe he'll get the price down too!

If you want to bring him then you should. I am very close to my dad but I dont want him to see me in the dress until the morning of when I'm all dolled up :)

Maybe your mom might be right if he's going to be embarrassing, I think you shouldn't take him with you..I agree with getting the WOW factor from him, when he sees you all dolled up!! If anything take him with you for other things you need to book & he can haggle prices LOL

I personally am not close with my dad at all and he isn't even walking me down the aisle, my loving, adoring step-father is, so I wouldn't but if you want to, do it!!

I asked my dad to go with me. He apparently thinks this is his wedding (we've been calling him 'the wedding planner' for months now bc he comes up with new ideas every day), and wants to (and I quote) 'have that WOW moment' when he first sees me. I think my dad is nuts, but if that's the way he wants to do it, I'm not going to kill his dreams. LOLMy mom is also a haggler, to the point of embarrassing, but I gave her strict instructions that she is not allowed to until I give her the okay while we dress shop. Then again, I'm paying for my own dress.
I'd leave dad at home if you think he's going to embarrass you. But to be honest, no matter how bad your dad might haggle, I can guarantee that he won't be the worst the salon has ever seen.

I personally wouldn't bring my father - I want my dress to be a surprise until the day of! But if you aren't planning that, then definitely bring him along! He sounds endearing - and maybe will even be able to get a great deal!!

This! I thought I had the only dad who wanted to be surprised! I didn't know dads thought like that haha...I was surprised when he said it, but I thought it was cute.
I'd say if you want your dad there then go for it. The worst he can do is haggle and the consultant says no.

I wouldn't bring my dad only because it's better for him to see me the day of all dolled up. plus my dad thinks it's crazy how much girls spend on stuff like that. he still doesn't understand why I need my hair or makeup done! lol.

I say bring him. I asked my dad to come when i purchased mine he said no its a girls day. He did tell me he will be present for all the fittings and he made me try it on when I picked it up last month. My dad was in the garment industry for 35 years so the dress is a big deal to him but not as big as his tux lololol
