all of my BMs are dying their shoes red, to match the dress...but my one wants to wear the shoes she wore to her last wedding, which are nude. So, 4 girls w/red shoes & 1 girl w/nude shoes and red dresses!
Should I MAKE her dye them? It really didn't bother me until my mother made a comment that I should make her get them dyed. What do you ladies think?
TIA !

IF you want her to have red shoes, but she is offering to wear ones she already has, maybe she is financially unable to get them dyed. Since it's something you want (the red shoes) can you offer to buy them for her?
I agree with this.
I have to agree with this too.
My sister was in a wedding where the bride made her spend $400 on a dress then dye shoes a color she won't be able to wear again. And she was in two weddings 2 months apart. it was financially strapping for her for sure, but that's what friends do. It's sort of your call.

it the dress is not long she is going to stand out (at least to ALL the WOMEN hehe) . If so then she should have them dyed or pay to have them dyed. But if it is long I wound't worry about it.

Re: would you ask your BM to dye their shoes?
no i wouldnt.
unless you have tea length dresses, no one will see their shoes! and even if they do, no one will care!!
one of my BMs wore flip flops to my reception and i didn't even know until i saw a proof of it.
it would be a little 'bridezilla-ish' to make her do it. if anything, offer to buy her a new pair to dye that she chooses herself but don't make her dye a pair she already owns.
i hate dyeables anyway, but that's another story. too promish.

I'm not. They're gonna spend all of the money on the shoes and not be able to wear them again because they're going to be lavender. I told them to get brushed silver shoes instead.

i guess im the odd ball here....if all the girls are in red shoes she should too! it just looks weird and will stand out in pics....long or short dress! it happend to me...$$$ was tight so i had someone alter my dress and everyone esle went else where. Well now in all pics my dress is shorter than the rest and my shoes stood out! Even the girls who had their dress done by the same place..still shoes show! she said yes to be in a BP....buyin a new pair of shoes is the least of her worries. Tell her go to payless and get a pair for under 20$! just my opnion!!
well said and i totally agree...i thought i was crazy
Ditto. I am not the type to tell my bp what to do - I told them they can do whatever - as long as they did the same thing. I think this might look strange..... good luck!

Gotta tell you -
I remember a post a while back about dyed red shoes that scared me!!
The bms wore dyeable shoes, it was raining, and all rushed to the limo....while riding in the limo, one of the wet shoes was touching the brides gown...HUGE PINK STAIN ON THE BRIDE'S GOWN...BEFORE THE CHURCH!!!!!
Be careful what you 'demand'!
personally, I'm trusting my bm's judgement - they're all adults, and, quite honestly....for my 1st wedding, everyone wore the same exact dyed shoes...and I still got divorced!
It's so unimportant in the grand scheme of things...
