if your FI had a house that he owned and did not want to sell...even though it would help the cause of paying for your new house and wedding-or if at the time you bought your home together he still put money into his old house....

my mom wants what is best for us and understands that...my mom works 2 jobs and would never ever think about holding me back from owning my own home...but I know what you are saying.

Trust me I do not want her living on the street...

I think there is something deeper going on- b/c most Moms are like yours-

I could see if she was sick, or couldn't work- but come on! how do you take advantage of your son! he has been nice enough to help her for this long

she should be helping him- not the other way around
