Honestly. Yes I think you're over reacting. No one is going to mistake your MIL for the bride. If it does look whitish in person people are going to think SHE IS the idiot not you. It's really is not worth stressing over, trust me.

I'd definitely be pi$$ed, esp if she's gonna wear it without the jacket...its just too close to your color.I'd say something to her about changing the color, really nicely though.

Re: Would you be mad if you FMIL bought this dress for your wedding?
I wouldn't be too mad.... but I would want to be sure that she'd keep the bolero on all night
without it, in dim lighting, it could look off white. Not a big deal though in the grand scheme of things.

ummmmmmm yeah. she has to keep that jacket on. Thats so inappropriate. And honestly, its such a pretty dress without that jacket but i just think its so blah in that color - it would prob be so much more gorgeous in one of the other colors!!!

I'd def be a little p.o'd about the color. At least she bought a dress. I'm getting married in 6 weeks and my FMIL hasn't even started looking for a dress yet.!!!!

If it were in that color I would be, it looks Ivory, which happens to be the color of my dress......the BRIDE....FMIL should NOT wear that color!!!! Other than that, it's a very pretty dress!

It is NEVER ok for ANYONE to wear white. If you are wearing white of course and I think even more so if you're wearing another color.

Re: Would you be mad if you FMIL bought this dress for your wedding?
My mother tried on a dress with a train and the sales associate urged her to remove it because 'no one other than the bride should have a train.' My mother of course agreed! So yes, it does border on the inappropriate side.

Yea not cool of her!!! Maybe you can suggest to her to get it in a different color! Tell her you don't want to be rude but can you suggest the sage perhaps as this color is a little light for a wedding!?!

Re: Would you be mad if you FMIL bought this dress for your wedding?
I truly believe nobody should be wearing white (or close to) other than the bride. So yes, I'd be upset. Its way too pale. Its a cardinal rule.

Re: Would you be mad if you FMIL bought this dress for your wedding?
With the jacket on.. I wouldn't be upset. without the jacket it does look a bit strange.Truth is though... there's nothing you can do about it right now. what's done is done. And you don't want to start brawling over this. You have a lifetime to pick and choose your fights. I would let it go. I TOTALLY understand being upset over it.. but I would let it go. Besides like other pple said... you aren't the one pple will talk about... it's her! They wont' say bad things about you... but they will about her. It's strange.. but I hear on that day you won't notice all those little things you think you would notice. I'll bet that the guests notice it more than you do! Don't worry.. no one will mistake her for the bride. And if you really want to you can just cut her out of all the pics! hahahahaha!
Also, maybe it doesn't look as light in real life? IDK.
Personally I wouldn't cause drama over this... I'd prefer for everyone in the families to get along nicely and I try to not cause any sort of drama.

Re: Would you be mad if you FMIL bought this dress for your wedding?
Should I continue to add fuel to the fire by telling you ladies that she told me 'your wedding dress looks just like FH's first wife's (she said her name) wedding dress.'I mean am I crazy or does she just hate me? Or is she just mad that shes losing her pride and joy?
Its funny too because I'm a loudmouth person thats NOT sensitive. But she is pushing me!!!!!!!!

Re: Would you be mad if you FMIL bought this dress for your wedding?
It may not be about you? How secure is she? That's not a nice thing to say (whether she believes it or not) and it really adds nothing but makes her seem petty.Everyone will be talking about her, in a negative way, if she wears that dress. Too bad, you would think she's want to start offpositive with you.

OMG it looks like a wedding dress for a mature older bride! Sooo in appropriate! She should be wearing anything other than white! Even black is better than white!!! That's pretty bad, lol (sorry, I can't help laughing)!Welcome New Vendors
