Ok, so FH and I have been engaged for over a year. We've also had our date/RH booked for about a year now.
I have a big group of college friends that live down in DC. One of them - a guy - got engaged 2 months ago. We were all excited for him! Yay!!!
I get a frantic call last night from my BM (one of the college friends of mine) who tells me that he picked THE SAME DATE AS ME.
We have a big overlap of friends. I cannot believe he did this. I'm most upset that he would put our friends in the predicament to choose which wedding to go to, ya know?

YES! I'd be pisssed!!!!! Do you think he didn't realize that it was the same date? I wouldn't hesitate to call and remind him before he starts booking in case he did forget. If he didn't, that's REALLY shittty!

oh my gosh!!! i'd be livid.. i don't care if he knew or didn;t know about your wedding lol i'd still be pissed. maybe you can work something out with him?

I mean, life will go on. I really don't want to be in the middle of a 'No.....come to MYYYYYYY wedding' thing.
I'll probably just not invite the majority of the overlap (10-15 people). It's just not worth the anxiety and getting upset about.
I just can't believe he did it.

yeah you have every right to be upset here. There are 366 days in 2008 and they HAD to choose the same one? Not cool at all.
I just realized your date is the first day of summer, that might have had something to do with it.... still not cool though.

i would call him anyway, regardless of whether or not the STD's were sent out. did he already know about your date? i would be really upset, and i dont think it would hurt for you to tell him that.

I think you should mention it to him and see how he reacts...like send him an email...and say congrats and say huh funny we are getting married the same day!
