Ok, so FH and I have been engaged for over a year. We've also had our date/RH booked for about a year now.
I have a big group of college friends that live down in DC. One of them - a guy - got engaged 2 months ago. We were all excited for him! Yay!!!
I get a frantic call last night from my BM (one of the college friends of mine) who tells me that he picked THE SAME DATE AS ME.
We have a big overlap of friends. I cannot believe he did this. I'm most upset that he would put our friends in the predicament to choose which wedding to go to, ya know?

You have EVERY right to be pissed off, as anyone would be!!!!! There are 365 days in a year and they HAD to pick your date Did they book anything yet? I would say something....honestly!

I'm trying my best to be a good sport about it all and just accept it.
Since all of my college friends live in the DC area and he is getting married in the DC area, it would make sense for them to go to his wedding, ya know?
Ughhhhhhh - actually, now I'm getting annoyed about it.
Your not being bridezilla. i would be really pissed off and called him..i made an effort myself to make sure i didnt book a day that someone else might choose...what this guy did was really messed up.

ohhh yeah i`d be pissed!!!!! i think maybe you need to make a phone call to this guy and see if it was just over looked? and maybe there is something they can do to change it. and i hate to say it if he`s not willing to work with you i would think that most of the people that you have as an overlap will be attending yours seeing as how you notified them 1st

I'm sorry but there is nothing funny about this situation. Even if picking the same date was not intentional, laughing about it is not cool. I'm sorry but that is such j a c k a s s behavior. Do NOT not invite the mutual friends. No way! Why should you just concede like that? You picked the date first. Good Luck!

Yikes! I would be sooo upset and irritated about that!! It's not a funny thing and he'd see a different side of things if his FW's friend did that to her and he'd have to see the 'other side of it''!
You're def entitled to be pisssed off about it! I'd def invite all you intended and see what happens. But you always have LIW'ers who'd be happy to come celebrate!!

Hell yeah I'd be upset! That is absolutely ridiculous and very inconsiderate of him! Is there a chance he probably forgot the date of your wedding....I know this might sound silly, but maybe if one of you has a daytime wedding and the other one has a night time wedding, your friends would still be able to make both....but the fact that he would even do that is just wrong...I mean, there are 52 weekends in a year, why did he have to choose yours out of all of them?? I'm sorry you have to go through this...
