Woman I work with just walked up to me and told me 'Honey....I know you're thin, but now you're wasting away' I was like 'huh, this is me - I've always been thin - havent lost weight' She was like 'oh, I guess I never really looked..' blah blah - you could tell she felt uncomfy I shook it off, and laughed a little but not too much
I dont understand how ppl would NEVER dare to tell someone they're TOO FAT, but ppl would NOT hesitate to say they're TOO THIN!

I think its funny thats so many ppl assume she's heavy and jealous! Isn't that also being presumptuous???
It is being presumptuous but you cant say that half the time someone is calling someone else too thin, it isnt by a heavy person.
why is it that thin people think that all heavier people are just totally jealous and it consumes them so much that they are the only one making comments? how many thin people make comments about overweight people, it works both ways
I dont know if the people who said it to me were jealous but they were heavy. It does work both ways though. Same way you dont see a thin person calling another thin person TOO THIN. You wont see a heavy person calling another heavy person fat.

SOmeone posted about this earlier - I am overweight and offended when rude people make comments - more so when I was younger. It is just as rude to say what that woman said to you though. Smile and know you are hapy as you are

Re: Would you be offended?
I've gotten that a few times in my life too..and I find it soo rude. I hate that I always felt the need to defend myself too, or run off a list of all the food I ate..
I put on a few more pounds, that I would really like to get rid of, and now I HATE whenever I mention that I want to eat healthier, there's always someone in shock that feels a need to tell me I don't need to be on a diet, when I never said anything about 'diet' i just said healthier..i eat like crap..I'll have brownies for breakfast and a hamburger for dinner lolz..that is NOT healthy regardless of size!

That's so irritating! My sister is really thin....we all joke with her because we're jealous haha. But sometimes people accuse her of having an eating disorder and it's like mind your own damn business!!!

I can totally relate Like you I've been thin my entire life. No matter what I do, I'm thin. If I stress, I have to make sure and eat extra cause I loose weight when I stress no matter what. I don't stop eating so I guess my metabolism gets faster for some readons
Anyway I'm at the point where I want to turn around and say, 'Um wow you sure are fat'.. no offense to anyone, but it just pisses me off, I feel like this society focuses on weight too much. People need to know that telling someone they're thin is just as bad as saying, wow you're fat

Re: Would you be offended?
I absolutely 100% agree with you. It is extremely offensive and I HATE when people say it to me. Like if we have a breakfast at work and that day I don't eat the bagel I hear...'well no wonder why you are so thin' Ummm excuse me but 1. it's none of your business why I didn't eat the bagel and 2. You obviously didn't watch me eat a pint of ice cream the night before.' I get it all of the time....very annoying.

I've never been calledthat, so I''ll take your word for it! Someday....
I havent been called too thin in a while and I miss it now. When I was younger, I would come home and cry when people made fun of how skinny I was. I would eat and eat and wear like 3 pairs of tights under my jeans. It was sooooo uncomfortable but now when I look back and I remember the people who would pick on me, they were all heavy!!
I thought I was the only who did that with the tights (lol). I don't mind people saying I'm too thin anymore I guess I'm over the whole weight thing and I try to work out as much as I can.
