would you be offended??

Original post by happybride11

Let's say a friend of yours was getting married about a year after you..and all of your vendors you recommend to them starting from flowers to dj to make up person to photographer..they go with someone else they think is 'better for them'

Re: would you be offended??

If someone asked me for advice & vendors I used & then went with the opposite for all my advice, I would be a little offended. I hate when people ask for advice but don't take it.

Then again prices could have been bad for her, or maybe she didn't get the same vibe you did when you chose them.

I picked some vendors the same as some of our family members did & I kind of think they were pissed. I would be flattered if someone chose who I did.

Oh well

Don't be offended. My FSIL got married two moths before us in June and the only vendor we are both using is the salon because they did such an awesome job on us for hers, other than that we have very different taste and very different budgets so we went with different vendors - even if you suggest the crap out of someone, they may connect with another vendor more.

I would not be offended for many reasons already stated. Many of my girls are already married and I took all of their suggestions and kept them in mind. Some I checked out, some I did not. I've done hours and hours and hours of my own research to come up with a short list of vendors that I feel will work with what FH and I want for our special day. I would hope my girls would not be /are not offended if I haven't chosen to book with a vendor they have used.

ETA: I also absolutely agree that she should NOT be putting your vendors down or saying hers are 'better'. That sounds pretty childish.

ITA. If it really bothers you maybe you should talk to her. I'm sure she doesn't mean any harm if she's your real friend.

Everyone has a different vision of what they want for their wedding and work differently with certain people, so I wouldn't be offended.

I can see how this bothers you if she tells you what is wrong with them.....

I guess I wouldn't be offended but more annoyed.......
