I don't think so. I think I would be annoyed if she was getting married before me!

Re: Would you be upset..

I can understand everyones feelings on getting married 'before' if it was less than a month...but I don't see how getting married after (aside from not being involved) would affect your wedding.

We all chose our dates based on timing, finances, personal choice, etc....we can't ask other people to put their lives on hold b/c we set a date...

Perhaps I feel this way b/c a cousin of mine became engaged a month before my FH and we are getting married 4 months before them (even though they had their date planned). Both weddings are going to be fabulous and what is really important is who we are marrying and the sacrament or committment we are making...not all the tiny stuff that we all obsess over (like LIW) ....

MY FH and I didn't want to wait a year or year and a half to get married...but understood that we had to have at least 2 months between weddings (if we were to go first)..and a month after (if only for family traveling reasons..)

The above is of course just my opinion...

No. Why? It's after, so whats the problem? I am not getting it.

Me too- what difference does it make. I think you should feel fortunate so much happiness surrounds you.

Before my wedding, I'd be aggrevated. And it depends how far after for me. A month would bother me. Anything over that, NO

If almost halfway into your planning one of your best friends - who you share a lot of mutual friends with - is tossing around the idea of getting married a few weeks to a month after you?

thanks.

This has happened to me! My Best friend since grade school got engaged in May (almost a year after me) and orginally planned to have her wedding in June 2006. She has now decided (as of 1 week ago) to move her wedding up to November 2005. 6 weeks after my wedding.
At first I bugged out-she pretty much has already decided to book most of my vendors. But now I don't really care. I'm excited, I know its going to be hectic but there's no one I'd rather be going through this experience with. Plus my wedding is still before hers, so if she uses a lot of my ideas its no big deal.
Honestly I'm really excited that she's moved it up-even though I'll pretty much have to get off the plane from my honeymoon and go get my BM's dress for her wedding (and my FI has to get his tux, since we are both in the wedding!)

I wouldnt care at all. actually i have been engaged for 2 years. well almost a year ago my brother met a girl and 6 months later got engaged. We set our wedding date for july and my brother set his wedding date for this feb. we were engaged well before they were and had our date set. and they decided to do it before us. everyone asks if it bothers me. but honestly it doesnt. theirs is small and ours is gonna be kinda big. plus he is older so i figure, hes next in line before me! :)
