I don't care what they do with their hair...I want them to feel good and comfortable that day too...Plus I want their personalities to show, I also don't like everyone being too much alike

i wouldn't tell them what to do unless they wanted to all wear their hair the same.
BUT when i was a BM in my brother's wedding, i went and got my hair done (i didn't even want to, but my SIL told me the other girls were wearing their hair up and i didn't want to be the only one w my hair down)...but when i showed up i was the only one who had my hair done. the other 2 girls looked like they barely even ran a brush through theirs. i was kind of upset b/c i would much rather have left my hair down, i spent a lot of money to get it done at a really nice salon since it was for a wedding, and i felt like i looked stupid since they did absolutely nothing to their hair.
in a large BP you won't have that problem, b/c there will be so many different styles. but if you are having a smaller BP you might want to just make sure they know what each other is doing in case they do want to coordinate.
OMG for my brother's wedding i felt like SUCH an idiot - all the girls were from Ohio, and to them having their hair 'done' meant straightening it, or putting soft curls in it.
I didnt get my hair done with them - but when i went to the church i felt like such a dope - i had a very high and elaborate hairdo and i was fancier then the bride!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol i love my hair like that. . . but i felt like the guidette little sister with all these natural down home country girls LOL

As soon as I officially decide how i'm wearing my hair, i'm gonna ask them to wear theirs a certain way...if i'm wearing mines up, I want them to wear theirs down...i'm not gonna get into specifics, they'll have their legroom...the way I see it, i'm only getting married once, this is supposed to be my special day, so i'd want to look special and different from anyone else...I guess i'm officially a bridezilla now!

that doesnt make you a bridezilla!
i understand what you are saying. . .but for me - i feel like even if i had the SAME EXACT hairstyle as a girl in my BP - i have a tiara, veil and the dress and the whole shebang. . . so i just dont think anyone would notice that we had the same hairstyle! ( that is JMO though i understand why girls do that!)

I could be the only one, but I am going to ask the girls not to have any tendrils/hanging pieces of hair around the face. I have seen alot of proofs from other weddings and see the hair and not the BM face from the wind blowing, etc...Pretty much everything else they can choose whatever they want..

either all up or all down what ever style you choose is ok. My hairdresser talked me out of the uniform look because he said some hairstyles look better on some then others.

I don't think I will dictate a particular style... I'm not paying for it, so they can style their hair as they choose... each girl has their own style and i want that shining through, esp since they are wearing the same dress!

I think i would prefer if their hair was opposite mine, like if mine is up, theirs would be down. i wouldnt care what the style was though. if they objected to this, it woudlnt be too much of a big deal. ill choose my battles and i dont think this would be one of them.

I wouldn't, but a wedding I was in definitely asked us to all wear our hair a certain way... it didn't bother me.

another reason why i wont do this...Some people dont look good with a certain hairstyle and they'll hate it and be miserable, well maybe not miserable but a bit annoyed.
Infact i would love it if they end up all doing completely different styles

All of my girls wear their hair different ways, so I would feel weird telling them all to do it one way...they all have their individual styles and personalities, so as long as its done, I dont care.

At first I was going to have them all wear it up but then I realized that some my look better with it up or down or might be more comfortable so I am going to let them decide how they want to wear their hair.

At first I was going to have everyone wear their hair up but now I'm not so sure. I'll have to give it some thought. I just don't want anyone showing up with purple Lil' Kim hair! ....Just j/k, none of my girls are the type to wear purple hair!

Re: would you ever. . .
In my experience with bridal parties...i have never been asked to wear my hair a certain way...which is nice...i like to wear my hair down and it will be down for my wedding as well....I will not be telling my BM's how to do their hair...whatever they want! =)

I don't care what they do with their hair, one of our gals has breast cancer and is on chemo and loves the funky wigs.... lol, i dont care if she wants to go wigless which she keeps threatnin to do... As long as the people i want in my wedding are there, that's all that matters, hair, nails... minor stuff

Re: would you ever. . .
Im just telling my girls that however they like their hair the best to get it done that way. I want them to be as comfortable as possible.
But I could also understand if other brides told them how to wear their hair. At least for the purpose of looking uniform in pictures.
