i am asking because i have been in 5+ weddings and in all those weddings none of the brides said anything to me about my hair and makeup -i just did what i wanted.
I would never ask anyone to do anything a certain way. . .i am just curious if this is common?

Hmm... I have a lot of girls too.. And Im sure styles will be duplicated. But i think i would just tell them to get a style different from mine. I mean, If i had an updo, they can have one, but it'd have to look different.

I'm so laid back with all this. As long as the color and material is the same on the dress they can pretty much do whatever.. hair, nails etc...

When I was in my MOH's wedding she only asked that we wear our hair up because she was wearing her hair down. I will probably do the same.

i have to say, i just didn't care what they did with their hair. i just wanted it professionally done by my hair girls. i figured asking them to pay for their hair was more than enough--i didn't want to go overboard by demanding a certain hair style.
i paid for their makeup to get done, cause i wanted to make sure they had nice make up and didn't look washed out in the pics.

Most of the weddings I have been in I had to wear my hair a certain way. For example the bride wanted an updo for one, low bun for the other etc. I personally am not telling my girls how to do their hair.

well when I was in my MOH's wedding she asked me to have my hair done all up....bu tthat is because I have really thin hair and she was concerned about it looking funny in pictures. I wasn't offended or anything. But I'm not asking any of my girls to do anything specific. I really don't care

i agree i am not even institing that they get thier hair done professionaly ... however if they all tell me they are going to get them done anyway i may request them to do something but i doubt it .,..

I'm asking my bridal party to all wear their hair a certain way. All low-slung buns with flowers. They can do whatever they want with the front of their hair (bangs, side part, pulled straight back, etc etc) but I want all their backs to look the same. I also want them all to wear the same shoes.
I'm being a pain BUT I'm letting them pick their own dresses .....so I figure SOME things have to be similar to make them look tied together. I ran this all by them and they thought it was reasonable so I guess that's good.

i wouldn't tell them what to do unless they wanted to all wear their hair the same.
BUT when i was a BM in my brother's wedding, i went and got my hair done (i didn't even want to, but my SIL told me the other girls were wearing their hair up and i didn't want to be the only one w my hair down)...but when i showed up i was the only one who had my hair done. the other 2 girls looked like they barely even ran a brush through theirs. i was kind of upset b/c i would much rather have left my hair down, i spent a lot of money to get it done at a really nice salon since it was for a wedding, and i felt like i looked stupid since they did absolutely nothing to their hair.
in a large BP you won't have that problem, b/c there will be so many different styles. but if you are having a smaller BP you might want to just make sure they know what each other is doing in case they do want to coordinate.

No. If I demanded they all wear their hair up (professional updo) I would feel obligated to pay for it, and since I have 10 girls and I'm broke I can't do that. So I'm telling my BM's if they want their hair done, let me know so I can book the salon and they'll have to pay for it. Otherwise they can do their hair/make up the way they think they look best.
I hope that makes sense.

I honestly don't care how my girls wear their hair so long as they have something done with it. I don't think I'd appreciate it if they had nothing done and wore it the same way they did every other day, but even at that I don't think I could say anything about it. I'd be upset but I'd keep it to myself.
