I don't think so- I love our venue. If I won the lotto, I'd rather use the money to buy a house

Re: Would you ever...
Definitely would. FH and I have actually discussed this because we are dorks. If we won we'd have one of those magical weddings in front of Cinderella's Castle in Disney. We'd fly everyone down there for the week and just party.

Re: Would you ever...
I dont think we would either. It was the only place I wanted to begin with. It would go to a house & kid's college funds.

Re: Would you ever...
I'd move the date up for sure, but keep the same RH... the only thing keeping us from getting married in 2009 money, so if we had more of it, we'd get married earlier.
Would you ever... consider not inviting a living parent to the wedding? Or dis-inviting someone already invited?

Yep I wouldn't mind not inviting my mother.

I wouldn't mind putting FFIL on the 'not invited' list... but it's not happening.

Re: Would you ever...
If someone did something so horrible to me, I'd have no problem un-inviting them to the wedding.
Heres a good one; totally hypothetical, of course;
if you and FH were all set to get married; with like 1 week to go and something really horrible happened between the 2 of you, (something that you would break up with him over if you weren't engaged) would you call off the wedding or still go through with it?

Re: Would you ever...
If its something I would break up with him over, I would probably cut my losses, cancel the wedding, send back all the gifts, and charge him for half. Better not to go through with it if you know it wont work then to try and get a divorce which can be tricky in NY.
OK..... hmmmmmmmmm
If the house of you and FH's dreams came available and you were able to afford it, but it would mean you either had to cut back on your wedding or have a destination wedding to reduce the cost, would you go through with the wedding, or try for the house?

Re: Would you ever...
Ohh I like these: Laura-- I'd probably still go through with the wedding provided that the circumstance didn't involve cheating, hopefully we could work it out. Plus I would feel too embarrassed...
Janna-- I'd go for the house end of story lol. I wish that offer was on the table now!!!
Damn this is hard, and I suck this is all I could come up with!
Would ever return your gifts for cash?
I suck yeah just say it!

Re: Would you ever...
Scratch that question:
Provided that we weren't already engaged and about to wed...
Would you ever marry for money rather than love???

Re: Would you ever...
would i univite someone to the wedding? if need be..yessss!
laura- i agree with alesia, if it's something other than cheating i would try to work it out. I guess we'd be the only newly weds in couples therapy. if it was cheating, then i would have to call the wedding off. yea, i'd be embarrassed, but having a gala wedding and then a divorce soon after is also embarrassing too!
Janna- I'd definitely go for the house, it's so much harder to come by!
Alesia- if it's a gift i really really didn't need and i didn't see anything i could exchange it with at the time, then I guess I would take the cash.
And now for my question!
what if a family member volunteered to pay for your entire wedding but it had to be on their terms, would u do it?
