You were lucky here!! Someone in my office wanted it done and they went through hell trying to prove it wasn't cosmetic and that she suffered from real back pain because her breasts were so large. It took about 2 months and a lot of paperwork to get it approved.
the same thing happened trying to get my deviated septum fixed...they claimed it was cosmetic (now if there is one thing I don't want fixed - its my nose) -- I had to get the dentist involved as well (since it was causing gum issues)
I quit that job before it was ever approved...and then just never went back...

First let me say that 14,000 is a lot for a boob job. I had mine done for $1500 and I think they look great. Actually, people that have known me are surprised , if it happens to come up, that mine are implants. Of course I did have mine done when I was still in TN. But that is still quite a price difference.

I would get lipo on my outer thigh in a heartbeat if FI did not threaten to leave me over it. I am one of those women who has been 'blessed' with an hourglass figure and I hate it !!! FI always tells me that curves are nice but let me tell you that they are not so nice when you cannot find a pair of jeans to fit you correctly !!! ARGHHH !! Soory, I am ranting over this.

in NYC most docs do it for 5,00 to 8,000
In Cali or Florida (since it's very common) it's about 3,00 or 4,000.
If i had the $$, i would do body countering surgery. It's like lipo all over. You cme out looking like u worked out every day for 2 hours. They even do cubes on the tummy. LOL

holy cow! this is quite amazing! i could not never get myself to go under the knife unless my condition was life threating. but if i was not so chicken i would contemplate a few things oh yeah and the $$$$ is another problem!
HOLY COW ON THE FINANCING! i could not imagina taking out a loan for a boob job (whats the colleteral.....the old ones??? ) sorry dont mean to offend anyone just seriously whats the collateral??

I dont think there is anything wrong with getting plastic surgery, as long as you are doing it for you, and not anyone else. Diet and exercise cannot change everything, and if you are looking for a certain look, sometimes only surgery can achieve that. There was something on the news the other day about people dying during these procedures, but that was mainly for people who were undergoing multiple procedures at one time, where you are under general anesthesia for more than 4-5 hours.
Plastic surgeons are required to screen people who were inquiring about it, I read an interview with a local dr. where he said that some 190 lb woman came in and told him 'make me look like Britney Spears'. He told her that he cannot do this, and she would not be a good candidate for PS. I would agree with this. However, you will still have some dr's that will do it anyway, just to make the money. This is why you need to do your research, and find out who is the best dr. for you, and what the risks involved are.
Believe it or not, one of the most dangerous surgeries out there is gastric bypass. I have seen so many people come into my ER after the surgery (ranging anywhere from weeks to months after) who dont make it out alive. In fact, a few weeks ago, I had a 23 year old woman who was in critical condition after the surgery. (I think she had hers at the end of January, and I took care of her somewhere in the middle of Feb. I dont know what her ultimate outcome was, she was transfered to ICU.) Something like 1 in 200 die from this. Think about that. 1 in 200. Even people that have open heart surgery have much better odds than that. People see Carnie Wilson on TV and think that this is no big deal, ect.

Even some of the Celebrity's with money get bad ones!!!

All these surgeries where they remove part of the intestine or stomach, as well as stapling prosedures are scarry.

After some extensive research I would defintely get it done. I would not do it before I had kids though. I would have lipo and breast reduction. I don't think I want knives near my face, little nervous about that.
You have to love the skin you are in and if that skin needs some tucking and sucking and you can afford, go for it. You only get one life.,

Yes to get rid of the scars on my tummy from surgery. It is keloid (raised) and you can see it under some clothing.
And maybe when I lose weight, if I need to be lifted in the boob area (LOL) but only lifted!
And if laser dermabrasion can be considered plastic surgery I would like my face done..maybe.

Absolutely!! I have always wanted lipo on my thighs and butt. I even went for a consultation. But I felt guilty spending that money on lipo when it really should go to a house. But once I get a job, I definitely will get it.
I have also gotten glycolic peels and laser hair removal.

i would love to get some boobies. I don't know if i could go through with it though. I'm very flat chested and I'm so self consious. I wouldn't be doing it for anyone else. FH loves me for me, and thats what matters most. I just hate not filling in my bras and being embarrassed in bathing suits. I would love to balance myself out. I wouldn't do anything drastic. Maybe go to a B cup. I don't know though: I'm kind of afraid of the pain.

Did anyone watch CSI Miami last night? THe girl died from being in an accident (Sailboat pole thing hit her, but she thought she was fine...), anyway, her implant slowly leaked into her chest cavity! YIKES!
