Would you ever get plastic surgery ?

im not judging her
she was c cup
her family came into money b/c her dad got hurt on the job will never walk again and got millions
she drives a bmw and a suv for the snow and now 14,000 boobs

my confusion was why is it so much money !
then suzanne said its more to get them reduced and that made it worst for me to understand

I think that they make it harder to get them reduced for health issues then to make them bigger.

I think you should have to be screened before getting plastic surgery just like you need to be screened before getting your stomach stapled

The surgery is more complicated to have them reduced that's why it's more expensive.

My best friend had her boobs done...I think she paid $7,000. I was LMAO one day when she called me all excited that she had finished paying off one boob (she financed her implants)

I've also heard that getting your breasts lifted is more expensive than getting implants.

What type of screening do you mean?? If she is an adult and is able to make this type of decision on her own, isn't it hers to make?

I do not mean to sound antagonistic (online 'chatting' can be taken differently than it's meant), but it seems like you have more of an issue about her coming into money (having her bmw, suv and $14K boobs) than with the actual idea of platic surgery....

No one knows what exactly they did in that operating room, why it cost what it did, or if it was worth it or not....

If she is happy, isn't that all that matters?

I agree casg. There should be some sort of screening process, esp. for those who have mulitple procedures. I'm all for self-improvement, but there just seems something unhealthy about that.

A while back, I got an email from that 'Extreme Makeover' show. They were looking for engaged couples for a future show. They stated they were looking for people who wanted multiple procedures. At first I was like, 'Oh cool!' But when I sat down and really thought about it, I couldn't think of multiple things I would change about myself. Don't get me wrong, I am FAR from perfect, but there isn't anything about me at this time that I feel needs surgical intervention.

That said, when I get older, if I need a lift or a tuck, if I can afford it, I'll get it.

I think it was Oprah who said it, if you have poor self esteem before you are going to have it after, so work on the inside first .

I would consider it for my midsection and my arms, but I am way too afraid of pain.

I went for a consult for a breast reduction, and to take them from a large D to a small C was 10K!!!

my issue is people who are overwieght and cant fight it help is to get your stomach stapled and you need to get a mental health screening
to make sure you know what you are doing

what not when you alter your body do you need a mental health screening ?

I think screening is a good idea...and I would hope that many plastic surgeons would look for signs and refer the patient to a counselor of some sort...however...its a capitalistic economy...so that means morals are thrown out the windows some times...


also when there is something that you are unhappy about for years and years...you are reminded by it every time you look in the mirror...

The approval process with the insurance company was real easy. The doctor took a picture and explained to them that I had constant back pain.

I think the decision to have any kind of cosmetic surgery is one that a person does to make them happy. I did it bc I hated being self-conscious if I was showing too much. I hated the fact that clothes fit funny bc I would always have to get a bigger size so my boobs can fit.

You were lucky here!! Someone in my office wanted it done and they went through hell trying to prove it wasn't cosmetic and that she suffered from real back pain because her breasts were so large. It took about 2 months and a lot of paperwork to get it approved.

Same thing with FHs sister... took months and months to finally get approved.

No, but it does.

I wouldn't. I don't see anything wrong with someone getting something done. Some people need to get surgery because of pain they suffer or some people may do it because they don't like what they see.
Of course, there are people who go to the extreme and totally change everything about the way they look and I think thats too much!

My girlfriend and I were *just* speaking about this not 2 hours ago...she is a beautiful girl but she's kinda flatchested (but her body is awesome anyway) and its always been self-conscious because of it. She said that she's talked about it with her husband and he wouldn't want her to get her boobs done because of what people would say.

And I've seen people do that before - recently at a party there were a bunch of girls who were clearly far from perfect themselves making fun of a girl who got her boobs done (and they were PERFECT!) because she had the guts to do it.

I think it was so sad, honestly, that they needed to tear this girl down because she did something that boosted her confidence.

Girls like that (the ones who criticize) are either self conscious themselves about something, threatened by a cofident and beautiful girl or jealous that they don't have the guts or the means to do it themselves!
