... with the same people? What I mean is, if you had a great gown and you wore it to a wedding in Sept 2001 and now another wedding is coming up in Oct 2003 in which a lot of the same people will be there, would you wear the dress again? Do you think many people would remember what you wore 2 years ago?

I guess it is true. If a dress is simple and classic, no one will notice.
If I find another dress for this upcoming wedding (Oct 18 at Land's End) and the dress is a good price, I will buy a new one. If not, I will give the dark purple number another spin on the dance floor.
I love hearing how many people have also thought of this same dilemma

Last year I had 3 events back to back and I just could not buy anything new so I juggled my gowns by who saw me in what. I know most people don't remember, but I always do. (not that I judge because of it, but I just can't help remembering things!)
