If you had plenty of room to add guests to your wedding list would you invite your High School friends to your wedding even if you have not spoken to them in a while (Even if you have run into them from time to time and they acted like things never changed) ????
Please answer poll! Thanks!

No, I wouldn't. If I haven't spoken to them in six to three months of my wedding, they can't come.

I agree - but I would say if it was like a year without contact, then no, I would not invite them.
If you are strapped for guests, I would invite co-workers with guests neighbors and their children with guests liw girls and their FHs ask your parents'fils if they have more people they want to invite good luck.

I had a very close friend in HS who I LOVED very dearly. We kept in touch on and off but she joined the air force so it was too hard for both of us. But that didn't stop me for asking her to be my MOH! So if you feel strongly about inviting them and you got plenty of room to fill up, why not?

i have 2 friends from hs that i'm inviting to the wedding. i have had lunch with one only once a year and have emailed here and there, and the other one i haven't seen in about 5 years but we still write (snail mail) to each other back and forth and whenever we talk on the phone (about 3 or 4 times a year), it's as if things haven't changed since hs. i wouldn't dream of not having them with me on my big day.

I think that it we left off on good terms and I had room for 1 (or 2) more, why not! Unfortunately...I wasn't so lucky with my bf from High school so I hope she's not waiting for an invitation

I am acutally inviting a couple of my friends and a couple of My FH. Not may though. I have two friends that I was great friends with for many many years. We lost touch in the past couple of years. I have to invite them though. I would only invite them if you were great friends with them for years. Also, that you talked to them after HS.

Re: Would you? Poll---
i was best friends with 3 girls... one of which i stopped being friends with after YEARSSSSSSSSS on bad terms, the other is in my BP, and the other just lost touch, with college and she moved etc... rarely if ever speak...didnt call when i got engaged although i did call her when she did... I was invited to her wedding...and did not go...for lots of reasons but i also felt like an add on- we hadnt spoken , we didnt stop being friends for anything bad, it just happened... I am not inviting her to my wedding because we have not spoken and even though she invited me, i didnt think it was necessary to invite me.
so imo, if you havent spoken to her in awhile...months-years...dont invite her

If you've lost touch with them, and the guest list is tight...i'd say NO. besides, they might think that since you haven't spoken in awhile, that you might be just looking for them to come and give a gift. (some people think this way!!)
if you have room on the list, go ahead...otherwise i'd leave them off.

If you would like to have them at your wedding and you wish you kept in touch better, I say there is no harm in inviting them. Don't do it just to fill seats though. Would you be excited to go to their wedding?

I think it depends how long ago HS was. I'm out 12 years. Too long, IMO...

I woudnt invite them because I want my wedding to be shared with the people that I have current relationships with. I think it might be a far strethc to invite people to your wedding that you barely know. And what are the chances they would come?

Re: Would you? Poll---
I actually had my best friend from HS whom I talk to every 6-12 months come to my wedding. Though we don't talk all the time and she isn't my close friend anymore, the history we share was so important to me to have her at my wedding. I have another really close friend from HS that I had a fight with about 2-3 years ago and even though I am still angry at her, It hurt me to not have her there given our history

Re: Would you? Poll---
I invited people from the past. My rule is that if I still like them and think they will be happy to get my invite, I sent them one.
One college friend came in from California!!! And lots of my college friends loved seeing each other at my wedding!
It depends on why you are inviting them. I get baby annoucements from people I never hear from and I always think it's like, 'Hi, we haven't spoken, but please send a gift.'
So, it depends on the situation!!!

There are a few I haven't seen for years and I thought it would be a nice way for us to all get together again. I'm only talking about 10 people though, including their husbands/guests.
