I wouldn't buy a co-op no matter how cheap it is. Co-op's are not property and you don't own anything other than stock in a corporation. You are better off saving for a house or condo

My over-all plan is to own, of course!! But, in order for that to happen, I have to rent cheap for now and SAVE!!!! I don't mind because I know we're working towards something of our own...
own..i feel like its a waste of money to rent. No offense to any renters out there
Rent cheap and save for a house... I'm scared to buy a coop that I'd want to resell in a few years and risk losing money.
OWN!!! there are just way too many advantages to it.
