Would you rather extend CH or Reception? (POLL)

Would you rather extend CH or Reception? (POLL)

FH and I are going back and forth about where to add the extra hour. Our BM said we can split it between CH and the reception which I would like to do, but FH says we are paying the DJ to start at 7:30. Hmm

What do you girls suggest?

to the Reception...

We are splitting 1/2hour between CH and Reception. I think that will give us extra time to mingle during CH so we can actually enjoy the reception. Also our DJ said that an hour extra on reception is too much for the guests.

Hmm.. are you taking pics during CH? Then I say extend the CH, so maybe you can go to some of it. If not I say extend the reception and the dancing!

I think it depends on a few things but I'd rather extend the party. Does you CH have seating for everyone? If not, then that's an extra hour or half hour that people have to stand and wait to go into the room. BUT then again it's an extra hour to pay the DJ which sometimes it's worth it. We're extending the party an extra hour. The younger people like to stay late so we're having the party go until 11:30.

I'd split it. Might as well put some toward the CH because people tend to leave after cake in the reception no matter what the end-time says.

I think I would go for the party. Just because people might start to wonder whats going on when they are waiting for the party to begin if the ch is really long. Then again maybe not. JMO.

I think I'd do the extra hour to the reception.

i would personally go with an hour to the reception. but if you could work it out, i would do an afterparty type of thing for the last hour

My CH is already 1.5 hours, so I'd definitely add it to the reception!

if your CH is 1 hour, I would add half of it to the reception and half to the CH. If your CH is already 1.5 hours, I would add it all to the reception!

I would split it

adding time to the reception is going to add additional costs for your pay per hour vendors. like music, photo, video, limos (if they are waiting around). those may be extra expenses.
maybe instead do a hospitality hour.

that would be an extra hour prior to the CH, where the RH would serve some fancy drinks with fruit in them.
