Cutting people off your wedding list for your dream DRESS? I went to Demetrois bridal yesterday in Macy's and found my dream wedding gown, however its was about $3,000 . Im gonna be honest, this is wayyyyyyyyy over my budget. LOL the manager told me to cut ppl off the list, i was this close to getting it but i really had to sit back and think about my budget. I really love this dress but FH will kill me if I even think about getting it....I dont know what to do

talk about a salesman!
I agree with the girls, do not cut your guest list. In the end i think you will feel awful... 'I'm sorry Aunt Suzie, but I couldn't invite you to my wedding b/c I fell in love with this dress...'

Re: Would you sacrifice
i found it so hard to find a dress that i would make a sacrifice if i found 'the one' that was out of my budget. sacrifice would be in other areas of the wedding though, not the people. i would consider the favors or limos or lighting etc. agree with the other posters though, you're likely to find the dress at a cheaper price at another salon. good luck!

Re: Would you sacrifice
check casablanca dresses. they have a few mermaid/trumpet all lace styles with sweetheart necklines. and they are under $1k!!!!! i would def recommend checking out casablanca.
i tried on a bunch a while ago at RK, when i first began my search. i suggest going there and bringing a pic with you of this dress and see what else they may have

Re: Would you sacrifice
i tried this one on and it looks MUCH BETTER in person than on the model...
I tried on Monique Lulliher (sp?) Venice at Bridal Salon of Manhasset, and also a Marisa dress... both around 3-5K, and they looked GREAT on me, but I couldn't justify that kind of money for a dress I'll only where once.
So, i went back to Lillette's tried on a TON more dresses and found Maggie Sottero Grace which I like better than ALL the other dresses I tried on...

Re: Would you sacrifice
I would not cut people for the dress but I am only inviting like a 100 people...is your guest list huge? Who would you cut out? It depends on what is more important to you. I also would suggest shopping around.
