Here's my story - my dress was very, very, very expensive and now that my wedding is over, my mom asked me if I wanted to sell it. At first I said 'NOOOOO' but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes to sell it. I'm never wearing it again, it's taking up room in my parent's closet and I'm not going to keep it to give to my daughter etc... what do you think?
Would you sell it? Have you sold it?

I would sell it, but not right away. I would need a few months to get used to the idea.

My gown is very expensive as well and I couldn't dream of selling it.
Who knows, your daughter might want to wear it!! Your dress is fabulous!!!

Thank you :)
Here is my dilema - I never ever throw anything out and this is why I'm struggling with this. I also think I can get a pretty penny for it which would make for a great vacation :) Also, I'm not pregnant and who knows if I'll even ever have a girl when I do have a baby? ugh

Re: Would you sell your wedding dress?
Well to me it would depend on who I was selling it to? Will you sell for what you paid? Will you sell to someone you know? I think I might wait... Your dress was smoking by the way =).

I couldn't sell my dress. I loved it way too much. I'm very sentimental that way.

Thanks, chica. I would probably sell it to a store and have them sell it to the general public. I'd probably get really pissed off if I saw someone wearing it though :) Well I'd even sell it for 1/2 of what I paid for it and I'd be really happy!

Re: Would you sell your wedding dress?
i9 would keep it. it was tailored to fit YOUR body noone elses. your daughter could use pieces of it for her dress when she gets married. if my mom had preserved her dress i would have used what i could from it. something about wearing what your mom did when she got married....doesnt have to be the WHOLE DRESS, but def a part of it...
i would keep it....

Sell it! You're never going to wear it again and chances are your (hypothetical, at this point) daughter won't want to wear it either. You're dress is beautiful, but it's also pretty trendy so it's doubtful that the style will be popular again when your daughter gets married. You may as well get some of your money back and put it towards an amazing 1 year anniversary trip.

That dress is amazing!
I understand why it would be difficult to sell it but it is entirely up to you. I honestly would keep something like that I think it is lovely!

omg, how expensive was your dress that you would be happy with half? j/k anyhow, dont sell it. we all know our daughters are prob. not going to wear it but i'd like to have the opportunity to show it to my daughter. or even if i didnt have a daughter, i know i'd want to open the box 15-20 years from now and gaze at it.
at this point the money is already spent and more money will find its way to you from some other source... dont put a price tag on your wedding gown b.c it is priceless.

Re: Would you sell your wedding dress?
I don't want to sell my dress...but I was thinking of the idea of possibly renting it, getting the most of it. The only problem I had with that is that the dress would not come back to me in the same condition as it was rented...so I may just keep it preserve it.

Re: Would you sell your wedding dress?
I'd have no problem selling my dress. I'd rather get more use out of the dress by selling it and getting money then have it sit in a closet for years and years.

Re: Would you sell your wedding dress?
Im going to sell my dress and if i cant then ill just keep it in my closet for the rest of my life i guess. I absolutely loved my dress but like Ev you said it...you can take that money and put it towards a vacation or something else.

Re: Would you sell your wedding dress?
I dont think I would. But my sister, similar to you, had a very expensive (couture) dress and afterwards thought...well maybe it could be going to important things instead of sitting around. She tried but hasn't been successful in selling it thus far (Ive tried to help by putting in on some websites, no luck) and its pressed, cleaned, in pristine condition. I just don't think theres a fast turn around for used wedding dresses, even though theyre only worn once. Who knows. If you try, good luck. It is a beautiful dress!

Jess you crack me up!!!! When I grew out of my first bra, I gave it to my mom cause she was that size and I left her in the dust!!!
