Would you worry about this?

Would you worry about this?

Has anyone found that it's difficult to get a call back from some of the vendors? I called both Jennifer from Fairytales and Mya on Tuesday and neither one called me back. I just called Mya again and I have a trial booked and she's free for my wedding day but I just don't get why they don't call back. Believe me, I understand that people are busy, etc. but she didn't even say anything about it. I started to give her my info again and she said oh yeah, I remember you, blah blah blah but never said sorry for not getting back to or whatever. Has anyone else experienced this or am I so stressed that I'm overreacting?

I got annoyed when I called a vendor and emailed them twice and it took 2 weeks for them to come back and say that they were booked.

If you go for the trial and like it alot, and book, then maybe nicely voice your concern. No need to worry if they arent working for you yet.

I haven't had too much trouble from my vendors with call backs. However, I have been struggling with the Church where my ceremony will be held. The music director there has never returned any of my calls. So I totally share your frustration. With all of the money you spend on an event of this scale, I think it's completely rude to not even receive a return phone call. So I hear ya!!

Apparently it is normal behavior for a lot of hair/makeup people, but it is so unprofessional. We're ALL busy....

I think it's also partly because many of these vendors advertise/specialize in weddings or on here and get a lot of requests.....one of the reasons I went with 'unknosn' vendors...

I haven't had this happen with the vendors I've booked so far but I've yet to start looking for hair and make-up people. I have however had this happen on NWR occasions and it was very frustrating, needless to say, they lost my business. Poor customer service.

Diamondgrlie, I agree with what you say. By the same token I feel that the first phone call is a big part of when a bride forms an opinion of a vendor. We've all experienced so many personalities with so many vendors and you know when someone makes an effort it makes you feel comfortable and willing to work with that person. I've experienced situations where I've spent more money on a vendor because he/she made me feel comfortable and it was a pleasant experience. To me, it's not worth saving the extra money if the service isn't worth it. I know she doesn't have to worry and I'm sure she'll find another bride if I don't book with her, but by the same token I can find someone else as well. As it is I almost feel that I don't want to go to her. Am I just being too ridiculous right now? Don't mind me, it's the stress talking!

I've definitely had this problem with vendors, and one lost my business because of it. I know that these people are busy, but not calling back leaves a terrible impression (and causes worry that the service will always be iffy).

There are definitely ways to word your concern nicely... 'I called a few days ago and left a message, did you get it? I wasn't sure...' or 'I called a few days ago. I guess you must be really busy right now!'

Thanks all for your respsonses. I think I'm going to go ahead with my trial with her and see how it goes. I will also set up a trial with someone else. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks.

Well, I emailed Jennifer three times and never heard back. When I called Mya, she got back to me three days later, she works so it takes her a bit, but atleast she called me back.

Some vendors are better than others, one of the flower vendors I am talking to gets back to me within 24 hours, so it really depends on the person.

i think we all have this problem with at least one of our vendors - we are using mya and i havent had it happen with her if it is really bothering you - then i suggest you ask about it -
