Wow-am I neurotic??

Is it insane that I want a second opinion on how much postage my invitations will need? Stop laughing...I'm serious!

I went to the PO...they weighed it etc and told me $1 per invite (it's square pocketfold)...and I just have this fear of them all getting sent back to me....I think I just need a glass of wine tonight......

not insane , but neurotic. i had the guy weight them AGAIN just in case, so I am right there with you

no you are not neurotic. We had ours weighed at one post office and then they didnt' have the stamps so we went to another and I had the women there weight it 3 times -- turns out the first office was a off a little.

Just to make you feel a little better I went to 2 different post offices to get them weighed and I weighed them at work

Nope! I had them weighed and then when I needed FH to pick up more stamps, I had them weighed again. Just in case!

I weighed mine at two dfferent post offices...I have been called neurotic- so I am no help!

But $1 per square invite sounds about right? I think so...but again...rational brain doesn't always work during wedding planning.

Ahh...I can weigh it at work! I'm off to our in-house PO right now!!

we have a square also and they were .79 but we ended up using 2 .42 on each and a .42 for the rsvp.

I am a little worried about this too. Before I bought my stamps, I weighed my sample at the post office's self-service scale before I asked the post office to weigh it - and both the scale and the postal worker told me it needed a 59 cent stamp. They are all sealed and ready to go now (I am taking them when I get out of work at three) and I will ask them to weigh a few JUST IN CASE.

Acutally i mailed something that i had previously weighed at work - and the post office came up different. So i mentioned it to the clerk - and he reset his scale and turns out i was right. He said they frequently need to reset their scale so you can just ask them to.

Then you wont feel neurotic

I weighed one at work and then had one weighed at the post office...both came out to the same amount so I'm trusting it (especially since my invite is not a square, nor is it especially heavy)

I found out that's its not just about the weight, it's also the shape...if it doesn't fit through the template slot that they have the postage doubles!

I went to the automated machines and double checked what the post office worker told me!

I also have a square pocketfold, but with all metallic paper. The P.O. told me initially $1 which I knew was wrong because I weighed them @ work & knew it was $1.17. Have them re-set the scale b4 they weigh it & you'll get an accurate amount.

Not only did I had them weigh it twice, I looked it up myself on www.usps.com. Apparently, they know what they're doing, all of my square invites made it out!!

no this isn't insane

I used to love to send out those square musical cards for brithdays and whatnot. The Bay Shore post office always charged me a certain price (can't remember it right now) and I figured that was it -- until one day I was closer to the Brentwood post office and mailed one off from there. They charged me a full 20 cents less!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought they made a mistake but the agent there said that Bay Shore had been overcharging me all along.

My mom went to 2 different POs to make sure they both said the same for how much postage was going to be. Mine was $1.
