I visited FM yesterday and Pedestals today. I was under the impression that they were both priced fairly the same. Pedestals came in $60 more on my bouquet, $15 more for my BMs, more then double for the mothers and on one CP they were $40 more per table and the other $60 more! Did anyone else notice this? How negotiable are florists? Also, I do want to say that I had an AMAZING experience at both locations and Pedestals took me into the back to see how they made all of the CPs and their working conditions. It was a very comfortable feeling and I was very happy with my experience but the price totally suprised me!

I dont know...I got started on my flower quotes really fast from florists because I was thinking about DIYing my own CPs for the wedding but now I have no idea because I really dont want to do all of that work myself but the CPs I want are really expensive. I may just be better off with low CPs and a lot of candles

Why not try Burtons or Designs by Rose? also Verbena is supposed to be really reasonable....

I'm in the same boat...I really had my heart set on high centerpieces too, but I think I might have to just stick with the low ones and the candles too...

I'm in the same boat...I really had my heart set on high centerpieces too, but I think I might have to just stick with the low ones and the candles too...
I know its so expensive for high CPs and I am not even using a lot of flowers in my CPs my idea is just labor-intensive and there's no way around that. I just wanted something that would really give the room an awesome feel!

That is a great idea, my friend actually did that and it looked great and the low ones didnt look 'cheaper' at all and I am sure they were. It really gave the room a nice texture.

Well it depends on what flowers you wanted, are they expensive flowers? What CP pedestal did you choose? How mnay people are in your BP? Church/house decor etc etc, that all adds up. Did you tell them that FM were less in price, maybe they can match the price for you if you want to book with them.

We are having a fairly big wedding (approx 225 people) so because there will be a fair amount of tables, I think the high/low combination will work. I've seen pictures and Iiked how the room looked. Because we are having the high/low combination, we saved about almost $800 in the total cost for flowers.

I dont think we chose expensive flowers. They are Hydrangeas, roses (just for bouquets) and delphiniums. Hydrangeas are the most that are used which are in season at the time of my wedding. The BP quotes were for the same exact flowers and the same quantity from both florists. I still think they are overcharging me so I am going to try the other places that were mentioned and will keep flower michele in the running.

I like the high/low combo and I think that may work for me as well. We will probably only have between 15-17 tables so hopefully it will work. Thanks for the suggestion!!

i suggest the same thing or maybe say that it is higher than what you expect to pay, give them your budget and ask them what they can do for you...I had a great experience with pedestals, but go with whatever you feel most comfortable with and whatever your heart tells you

I agree to tell them your budget and see what they can do. Also, maybe you can do something where half the tables are a high centerpiece and the other half are low- I dunno what you have in mind though for design.

You should try using a local florist. They are way cheaper then the 'popular' vendors. That's what I'm doing.

I loved my appt at pedastals, they were more money, but the showroom, all the employees, its a much bigger operation, So I am getting the same flowers somewhere else for 1000 dollars less.

My FSIL used Pedestals and absoutely LOVED them and the flowers...which stayed fresh well over a week!
Another great touch! She had high centerpieces and instead of getting favors, Pedestals sent people (2 I thnk) to take the centerpieces down at the Viennese Hour (it was in a different room) and then they broke the centerpieces into bouquests...wrapped in clear celophane, and handed one to each woman as she left for the night. The guests loved it...and no one fought over the centerpieces!
