i looked at the 09 'how much are you spending' thread and it seems way lower than the 08 one!

do you think they have budgets right now but didn't realize how much things will really cost, or do you think they are just doing things for less $$$?

my original budget was $25K and then i realized that wouldnt even cover JT!

i also never expected to spend as much as i did on favors, invitations etc.

i bet you could find some of my old posts swearing i would never go over $25K so i think it makes a difference WHEN you ask the question

I think a budget can work, if you set yourself limits, if you like a photographer, and his package is 5k and you budgeted 2k for it, then you cant have that photographer. Some people will go over their budget for certain vendors just because they HAVE to use that venor, and dont want to look anywher else.
a lot of us on the 09 boards (including myself) just cant go over the budget, because FH and I just cant afford to go over. we have certain money saved for the wedding and still saving, other then that......we cant go over because where will the $$ come from?
now if i had $$ coming in from other places, and more help, then my budget would be a lot bigger, but realistically i cant add extra things to this wedding because i cant afford it.
