WOW Would you be pissed??

My cousin called me and her engagement party is 8/5/07 so she asked hey FMIL to pick up the labels for the favors and her FMIL spelled my cousins name wrong she put Gabriella instead of Gabrielle and when my cousin told her she said well your italian not american .. My cousin WAS SOOO INSULTED she was like that is not my name.. my name is Gabrielle and its my party i should have my own favor with my name spelled correctly ..

would you tell FMIL your making new labels on your own or would you just go out and do it and not tell her and just use the correct spelled labels??

I would probably do them myself if it bothered me that much. Im kind of used to it tho, everyone spells my name wrong.
its PeggIE not PeggY but When its a wrong sound all together you would think her FMIL would know her name.

I would tell her that since they are not correct and she refuses to correct them- she leaves me no choice but to go out and get new ones myself. That is just terrible- and very rude.

its PeggIE not PeggY but When its a wrong sound all together you would think her FMIL would know her name.

Her FMIL did know her name but said it should be spelled the italian way not the american way .. LOL ..

Regardless if it was american or italian spelling..
Her name is what it is LOL ..

People say & spell my name wrong ALL the time too my name is Rosalia & people call me Rosalie Rosa Rosalina I get it all

Wow that's so rude of her!!! First of all, how do you not know how to spell your future daughter-in-law's name? and secondly, how could she not even care that she messed up like that, and then make a comment like that? Wow, so yes I'd be pissed. If that happened to me, I'd tell her 'fix them or everybody will know you don't even know my name' How ridiculous!

sounds to me that her FMIL was just trying to cover her asss and be stubborn and not admit she made a mistake.

if FMIL refuses to change it--then i would tell her i'm doing it myself....and then i would give her a copy of my birth certificate and say 'look biiitch, this is my farking name!!!'

but that's just how i roll. haha

I would be totally PISSED OFF!!!!! I would tell her that she either changes them or I will get new ones!!!! That is ridiculous... how can she be so rude to tell her that is how it should be spelled!!!! That is not how it is spelled and if she don't like it tough shiit!!!!! What does her FH have to say about it? I would like to know what he thinks about the situation and how rude his Mom is!!!!

I would be annoyed as well. People are constantly calling me Christine even though my name is Christina. I know minor difference, but it irks me so much. I think I would just reprint them myself.

Wow that's messed up! I would just get them myself, because it sounds like her FMIL deliberately did what she wanted. I have the same problem when people spell my name with one L and refuse to correct it!

I would just re-do them myself and use them and not say anything! I don't like to argue about things. I also get Christina alot and I am Christine!! So annoying, people just get OUR names right!

OMG! I can totally sympathize! Not only do I get various spellings of my name, my kids get it too! My oldest (Gabriel) is constanly being called Gabrielle, and my baby has an unusual spelling (Jacen, not Jason).

I would totally do them myself, and NOT say anything to FMIL!

I would definitely be pissed and would tell FMIL we need to order new labels. If I paid for them, I would expect FMIL to pay for the correct labels.

I would tell her that I was getting new ones made properly, the comment was really rude on FMILs part

People spell my name wrong all of the time, but i have never had someone say 'oh, your name is french not american' to brush it off - that would really bug me. I don't expect people to know how to spell, but if you make a mistake correct it, that's all.

um, that's just ridiculous. to me, that's the same thing as if my FMIL put mary beth on my favors instead of lori beth. IT'S NOT HER NAME!!!

sorry for the caps but i feel your cousin's pain. she should definitely do them over herself.
