Ever since I had the baby, my hair has been falling out in drips and drabs. Well, within the last month or so, it's like I could take clumps of it out on a daily basis. I feel like a cheap barbie doll (where you can see each strand/plug) . Hubby makes fun of me saying I can do a wrap around like the DONALD with the longest piece on my head but seriously, I'm freaking out!!! Can anyone recommend something to stop hair loss, increase volume, help growth???
Agghh, I'm going to be drooly mcbaldspot soon, Shorty!!!

Re: W/T/F is happening to my hair???
Could it be stress? There was a time when hair fell out my mother's head in patches due to stress. It all grew back, though.

Get your thyroid checked. My SIL had the same thing happening to her for a LONG time after the baby came. She kept thinking that it was just a side effect of childbirth. Finally, she had a lump on her throat and went to the doctor. She found out she had a thyroid condition that the doc thinks might have been triggered by the pregnancy and that was why her hair loss did not subside.

I heard from my hairdresser after she had her baby, clumps came falling out of her head too. I think this is a normal thing that happens to women after they give birth.
By the way: I just saw my hairdresser's hair the other day and it looks great...no bald spots...

Sharon, stop pulling it out....duh.
I'm jk hun, but in all seriousness, get your thyroid checked out.
Another angle would be diet pills/herbal supplements. My FSIL was taking them for a few months to lose some weight, and her hair started falling out in clumps, especially in the shower. That may be an option too. (Please realize that I'm not assuming anything - just offering experiences. )

Check the thyroid and have blood taken and checked for vitamin deficiencies. Good luck.

I think that's normal after having a baby. It happened to me. My hair got thicker/healthier looking during pregnancy than a few months after baby it was coming out more than the norm for a while.

When you are pregnant you don't shed hair, that's why it's usually thicker and nicer during pregnancy. After you give birth it is natural to lose hair. Mostly around the hairline. I f you breastfeed it does't come out until you stop. I've done a lot of resarch about hairloss unfortunatly about 6 months before my wedding I stated loosing mine and lost it all. They think in my case it was my thyriod or a autoimune disease. I totaly understand how hard it is and have found that most people and doctors didn't take me seriosly until I lost more than halve of it. If you don't get anywhere with your doctor you should see an endocrinologist. Fm me if you want a referral. Hang in there it should come back.

They actually talked about this in our lamaze class that it's sadly normal and common Sharon. I think they recommend lots of vitamin b.
