WW girls: food ideas please!

Original post by SummerBride10

I've been on WW for about a year and half. I've done so well on it, and I'm a lifetime member.

The last 2 weeks or so, I really slacked off. So bad, I just feel the weight gain I still need to get weighed in for July and I am not looking forward to it.

Being the proactive person I am, I started fresh on Monday, counting and tracking.

I think one of the biggest reasons I slacked so badly was that I'm bored. I've been eating many of the same foods (esp. for breakfast, lunch, and snack). Please help me out and reccomend some healthy, low point food ideas! It can be anything: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, dessert, etc. I just need something something. Or even post your 'usual' menu you follow.

Thanks girls!

the fiber one pancakes are very good-i have that mix and love it

I never let myself run out of it. Once I have only a quarter of the box left, I have to get more...it's like a sickness!

More goodies:

- No Pudge brownie mix
- FF plain yogurt with mashed up berries (it's icky without added fruit IMO)
- Diet hot chocolate...okay, it's summer...but it's good when there's a big thunderstorm!
- Diet soda cupcakes! One box of mix + one can of diet soda. Delish!

No pudge brownies are awesome!

And so is the diet soda cake....i make it all the time for company and everyone loves it. Next time you make it in chocolate, poke holes in it and pour in warmed caramel sauce...and health bar bits......mmmmmmmmmmmm

Do you ever check the hungrygirl web site?

Its a lot of processed foods, but she has great suggestions - when I crave something junky, she usually has an excellent subsitution recipe.

I have been eating a lot of veggie burgers lately - 1 point on a 1 point sandwich thin - it holds me over for lunch and lets me snack. I am a big snacker. Its a lot easier in the summer with the great fruit available.

1. what are no pudge brownies?
It's a fat free brownie mix. Basically you mix the mix with a cup of fat free yogurt and bake. Delicious

No Pudge

2. how do you make this diet soda cake?
1 box cake mix, 1 can diet soda........try to stick with similar colors - chocolate cake - pepsi, white cake - sprite......no eggs, no oil....mix and bake

3. THEY MAKE CHOCO/PB VITAS NOW???!?? ive never seen them! i want some

YUP!

No Pudge is a brownie mix - you mix it with fat-free vanilla yogurt (I think? It says it on the box)...I get it at Trader Joe's.

Diet soda cake is so easy...just take a box of mix and omit the eggs and oil. Instead of those, used one can of diet soda. Some people add an egg white to the mix for consistency; I never do because eggs freak me out Then follow the baking instructions on the box for whatever type of cake you're making (round, square, cupcakes, etc.) I usually find that these cook a little quicker, so check on 'em.

I've seen those Vitas at Stop & Shop

ETA: With the cake, what you do is calculate the points based on only the mix. The Nutritional Info has both in it - as a dry mix and as a prepared mix. Since the diet soda is zero cals, it adds nothing. My personal favorite is funfetti mix (the kind with the color chips) and diet Sprite.

Frosting is a trigger for me...I could eat the whole damn tub of it. So I use frosting when I'm making it to bring to someone's house. If I make it for myself, I usually make only half a box of mix and half a can of soda because I live alone (it makes 12 cupcakes that way)...having a whole cake in my house would be dangerous.
What I've found that tastes okay is using fat free cool whip...it's not the same, but a decent substitute.

I usually go with a container of FF cool whip mixed with a packet of SF FF pudding mix......gives it a nice texture and flavor.

Oh believe me, I NEVER make this just for myself....only if I'm bringing it somewhere or if I'm having lots of company.

Re: WW girls: food ideas please!

See, I can make it for myself if I stick to cupcakes since they're pre-portioned...as a cake, I'd 'convince' myself that the slice is 'the right size'. But again, I stick to half the box when I make them.

Totally psychological, LOL. I've learned so much about myself from WW.

I never make just for me or our house, its always for someone else or to bring somewhere. I'm more about eating the cake batter

I *think* a 1/12 slice of cake or 1 cupcake is 3 points.......
