WWYD?

WWYD?

So we are registered at BB&B and Target for our everyday stuff (but I see stuff that I could get for cheaper or stuff that I like better at Crate and Barrel). Then at Macy's we have just our crystal stemware that is the only reason why we still have them.

I had other stuff at Macy's but they are so overpriced on the same things that BB&B has. Our flatware was 3 times as much, so was our China. AND if I see stuff on the website that I want it won't let me add it. (It's my registry, I should be able to put whatever I want on it, right?) Ughhhh!!!

So, rather than have 4 registries, should I register at BB&B for crystal stemware that is the same price, that way if people get it for us we can return it and get cash, then go to Macy's for the stemware, or just keep Macy's but not tell anyone, that way we can still get the completion program discount?

What would you do?

Help!!!, TIA

We had the same type of problem.
If no one buys anything from Macys then you won't get completion points. The amount of $ spent is what determines how many points you get.
If there is chrystal stemware you like at BB&B, I would register for it there.
Or.... maybe you could leave the chrystal on the Macys and tell your parents or a close friend that if anyone asks what you would really like to tell them about it. Otherwise, the rest of the people just think your registered at the other stores.
People hate going to stores to find only a few things on a registry. That's why we cancelled ours at Macys
(even though I worked there for 6 years

warning with BBB - the do not carry stemwear (crystalware) and certain things in store its internet orders for certain things.

I compaired prices from macys and bbb and yes big diff. but when macys has a sale its the same price as the bbb plus coupons.

I am not sure on crate and barrel but i never shopped there.

I would just verify if the stuff is available in store because many people might not order it online.

I had the same problem: I had 2 HM registries and then a Target and Macys. So what I did was remove one of the HM registries, keep the Macys and added all the expensive stuff....and just add a few essentials that were not in Macys, to the Target registry. I like BBB but not many ppl shop there so I just kept the Macys....Plus, it's your wedding, let them dish out a few more bucks!!!! Joking aside....personally I like Macys simply bc they have many more sales than other stores, so if you have a china set for $200, it can be cheaper for some ppl during sales and w/ their Macy's card....I mean....who doesn't have a Macy's card?! I don't...but still most ppl do!

Registries really are a big pain. I registered on Amazon because I thought it solved a lot of those problems, but then they raised the price of my flatware almost $15 a set--which made no sense anyway. The same set costs $38 for the 'matte' version, and $53 for the shiny, which is what I want. It was $38 when I registered. BBB doesn't have it, and Macy's is even more money. So I took it off. There's a couple of websites that have it for even cheaper, and have sets for even cheaper, so I told one person who said she wanted to buy it about the cheaper options. If she doesn't want to get it, we'll buy it from the cheapest place after the wedding with some wedding money. I hate the idea of my guests spending more than they should for the same thing.

And I can't be bothered worrying about completion points or that stuff.

I know! Registries are a PITA, they are fun to put together if you're in the mood to shop though! LOL

My FMIL really really wants us to have crystal stemware (I think it's pretty but honestly, we have no where to go with it and I don't want it to get broke)
I don't think I will tell anyone about it, she will spread the news. I wouldn't mind switching the pattern to one available at a different store except that one place setting has already been bought from it and it was bought by my stepmom. She passed away a month ago so that is the only wedding present that we have from her, so I don't want to return it, KWIM?

Ughhh, oh well. If this is the worst part of planning I'll take it.

That stinks that they would raise it and that they are diff prices just b/c one is matte and the other is polished.

Re: WWYD?

To be honest, I've had no problems with Macys... and I have added LOTS of stuff online. Are you sure you're logged in (as opposed to just viewing your registry) when you try to add stuff?

I am registered @ Target, BBB, HM registry, Pier 1. Who cares if you're registered a bunch of places

Re: WWYD?

so, we had 3 registries (bloomies for china, CB2.com for FH's computer desk and file cabinet, and cooking.com for 5 hard-to-find items), which was too much for our small wedding....

I forwarded CB2 and bloomies info to my mom and BM who are organizing the shower.... I thought I would forget about cooking.com, since those items are my personal kitchen 'wishlist', and not as essential as bloomies.... I would never remove FH's registry at cb2.

Inevitably, a couple friends asked for registry info.... I gave them our wedding website which had all 3 registries on it... A good friend bought everything off of cooking.com as a generous wedding gift!

So, maybe you can shift everything but the glasses you want off of macy's, put the macy's registry info on your webpage, and tell a few choice people about the macy's registry when they ask...
