X-post....Those who are paying for their wedding themselves
Fh and I are paying for the entire wedding ourselves. My Mom is giving us money for the honeymoon, but technically it's not for the actual venue.
His parents are paying for our rehearsal dinner and will give us a gift.
For those of you who paid or are paying for the wedding yourselves, are you putting both of your parent's names on the invitations out of respect or leaving their names off completely? If you left them off completely were either side offended?
Personally, I don't think either parent's names should go on our invites since we are paying for our wedding ourselves 100%

I am not putting the parents names - the FH's family is paying $1500 for a list of people she demanded be invited to the wedding.
We will get them a gift - but with all the work and effort going into this wedding - people should know we did it on our own - I think its something we are actually very proud of :)

My mom is paying for my dress/shower, and FH's dad is paying for the RD. Other than that, we are doing it all.
Ours says:
Bride's Name
&
Groom's name
Together with our families

Personally we're not putting any parent names on our invites. We're paying for the wedding ourselves and my parents are unfortunately no longer with us, so its not an option for me.
You're hosting the party so I would think to just put your names. However, if your both close with your parents, I'd maybe just ask if its important to them, might not be worth upsetting them over.

This is most likely how we will state ours. My mom bought my dress and will do the shower and FH parent's are giving us a gift and the RD. I feel we should include them but we are not putting it as they are inviting. I think `together with our families` is a nice way to put it respectfully to include them but to show we are paying for the wedding

Good, so I'm not the only one out there who has thought about this then, lol.
Together w/ their families is nice. My mom is paying for my dress, the shower & our honeymoon but that's it.
Fh and I are paying for everything else.
Thanks guys! Fh and I were going back & forth for a while on this and he told me to ask you guys. :)

We are putting my parents names on the invitations only because I do not want to have a fight with them (and by them I mean my mom). FH's parents are not alive so there is no issue there.

We are getting some help towards the wedding, but FH and I are paying a major chunk ourselves and we did
Bride and Groom Together with their parents
... I think thats how we worded it, its something like that lol

My dad has offered to help and my mom offered to buy my dress. FHs parents arent able to contribute. So FH and I will be paying for most of our wedding. Plus my parents arent together so I feel actual parent names shouldnt be on invite.

We are not putting our parents on the invite whatsoever. I showed my mother a sample and it was the first thing she noticed. Luckily, she was like 'well, it's your wedding, and your paying, so it's your right.' ... but I was so willing to fight it out with her.

Re: X-post....Those who are paying for their wedding themselves
We put our parents names on our invites bc they are helping us and are very supportive with the planning process. My mom is paying for half my dress & his mom is giving us $$ towards bouquets. Other than that we are paying for EVERYTHING!!!!
I wanted to acknowledge our parents. My invite is in my album so you can see.

I asked 'her'because she's the one doing my invitations & she said that people in this situation have used
With the blessings of their families
or
With the blessings of their parents.

I am paying for the whole wedding but out of respect I am putting both parents names. It will read:
Emily & Peter with love from their parents Mr. and Mrs. Emily &Mr. and Mrs. Peter

Re: X-post....Those who are paying for their wedding themselves
We are paying for the majority of the wedding. My mom has helped with giving us some money & she is buying my dress but my dad & FH parents are not helping at all. Because of this reason I am not putting any parents names on the invites the only one who would go on would be my mother's & that would cause too many issues.

Re: X-post....Those who are paying for their wedding themselves
We are not putting anyone's names on the invitation but our own.. no one in my family is paying but us.. so i dont see the point... neither of us have fathers mine died 3 years ago and his is useless.. both of our mothers are broke.. so its kinda all on us...

Re: X-post....Those who are paying for their wedding themselves
my parents are helping us out with a certain amt of $$ and the rest we are paying ourselves. FH's parents are seperated and are not really contributing at all. But out of respect we will include both sets of parents in our invites because traditionally that is how it's 'suppose' to be done in our culture.
