It might go up slightly. I got into an accident last year and the cost of the repairs didn't cause it to go up but I lost my discount of being a safe driver-not having an accident in 5 years. It wasn't a big change.
Get an estimate and see how much it's going to cost. If it's just over your deductible I would say it isn't worth it.

I'm not sure what they deem unsafe. To them damage to a car might just be damage to a car. Circumstances might not matter.
