Re: Long Island Ghosts and Legends?
Did you ever hear of Mary's grave in Stony Brook? We went there once during the day. supposedly there was witch and the towns people tried to drown her in the water and she did not dorwn so they burned her in this creamatorium that is on the side of the road. It looks like a little shed with an alter. She was then buried on the property. The fence at the time was so bent. I am not sure if this is true. But it makes for A SPoOoKY STORY.

Re: Long Island Ghosts and Legends?
Jen..... i always heard that Marys Grave was at Mt. Misery/Sweet Hollow Road... and that she burned down a Childrens school (or hospital)... same story, different locations....my friend had weird experiences on Sweet Hollow Road. He got pulled over on it at night with his friend.... the cop came over, i forget what he said... then he let them go and when he was walking back to his police car my friend looked in his rear view mirror and saw the officers head in the back was like blown off..... like he was a ghost of an officer who got shot. scary. i think he floored it after that..... or he was messing with me... he seemed serious though.

Re: Long Island Ghosts and Legends?
There's a restaurant in Stony Brook taht was supposedly haunted...I forgot what it's called, but the lights supposedly go out every night at the same time. The legend was that there was a woman who lived there and her husband or boyfriend or something was killed during the revolutionary war. She committed suicide and is said to walk around the house looking for him, waiting for him to come home...

Re: Long Island Ghosts and Legends?
Has anybody heard of Mummy Boy (or something like that)? Someplace on the North SHore, there is a family whose son died on or around his communion and his parents had him mummified and dressed him in his communion suit and they put him in a clear coffin and mounted it on their house with a spotlight! It sounds weird, but I have heard a few people mention it.

what is Tiny Town??????
Its the cutest thing......we used to go all the time, its just this tiny tiny neighborhood actually in Merrick, and its just tiny, narrow roads, w/ tiny houses on it.....and Yes, people do live there, its only a few blocks radius--but the cutest, but oddest thing to see.
I cant even tell you how to get there, all I know is its in Merrick, we used to have to drive around a while to actually find it.
I live near the Massapequa house---its some weird--a** sh**!
A friend of mine years years ago went trick or treating there on Halloween, and the lady came out screming, telling her they dont celebrate the holiday--LMAO!

Yeah its definitely something to see--you will not beleive what you see when you pass it--it sure doesnt fit on the block.....I do feel bad for the neighbors next to it and behind it, they must know more than anyone!
The cars that pass the house constantly would get on my nerves too I think if I was a nearby neighbor---
