I need my caramel sandals to be less painful and for the dog to not make me chase him around the neighborhood in those uncomfortable, caramel sandals.

I would think with Crazy McCowrker, you could saunter around the office barefoot, at least temporarily solving one of your problems

I don't know much TS Eliot! I'm only familiar with 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' and I once tried to read 'The Wasteland' but I couldn't get into it!

Ah Ha! She's not as smart as we thought she is!!!!!

It's ineffable!

I really only know that one, but it has been in my head since 1994!

My AP English teacher wanted us to read it & the new English Dept chair was going to be visiting all English classes & he loves that poem so he did an overly dramatic reading for us that my friends & I mocked for the rest of the school year.

Anway, when you wrote that you ate a peach, just triggered it in my head.

It is kind of an obsure reference though.

Ah, see for the same reason I sometimes start reciting Tomorrow and Tomorrrow and Tomorrow creeps in this petty pace...

Why do English teachers to that?!?!?!

I also had one who insisted on doing an accent when reading Great Expectations aloud and he would say 'Hallo Pip!'

When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason I tell you is always the same
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
of the thought
of the thought
of the thought of his name
His Ineffable
Effable
Effinaneffable
Deep and Inscrutible
Singular
Name

I'm here to speak for all English teachers...who seem to have gotten a bad rap on this thread for being crazy and strange and making their students do odd things.

the only crazy thing i do with my class is share my obsession with Johnny Depp....for instance...today is his birthday, so i asked the children if they'd sent him a card yet.

If there is ONE thing these students will walk out of Middle School with - it is a greater appreciation for the brilliance of Johnny!!!

HAH!

I can keep going if you want!

Romeo, Romeo, Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name if thou wilt not be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet.
