can you tell your fmil that although you appreciate the gesture, you'd rather not have an e-party?? i mean, an e-party, then a shower, then the wedding - all in just a matter of months is really asking a lot of people. not that you are to blame, i know you don't want the e-party. and yes, it is rude to invite people to the e-party but not the wedding.

we have told her - FH and I. We've been ignored. I'm truly embarrassed and angry that she's opting to do this and not work with my mom on the shower.

then i have no other advice, just this

It's extremely rude.

Maybe if you tell her that you and your FH will not show up for the e-party if she plans it, then she will know how serious you are about how rude it is.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!!!!I think that is ridiculous, I can't believe she doesn't see anything wrong with that. I'm sure the e-party that she is willing to pay for only consists of people that would be on her guest list and no one from your side. WOW, talk about nervy.

they would only be people she knows. how did you know that?

I just had a feeling. I figured that she is not happy that you are not going to invite her guests to the wedding, so this is her way of getting back at you(sort of). I guess I just know how crazy/annoying/nervy/rude (take your pick with the describing words) FMIL's can be.

Tell her if thats what shes going to do then you wont show up
How would SHE feel if someone invited her to an Eparty, she came, gave a gift, and later finds out she wasn't even invited to the wedding????

I personally would never talk to that person again!
