Yep. He has, unfortunately. Whenw e were first dating, he lied to me once or twice about something he'd bought, or more like he'd delberately not tell me. It was a really big deal to me. I don't think you should lie to your SO about anything, but I realized at the time I wasn't giving him any freedom to do anything, so it was either not buy ANYTHING he wanted, buy it and have me yell at him for 3 days, or lie about it. I have no idea why I was so controlling. I was 17, so I guess we can call it stupidity.

Re: LYING (repost from Newlywed bd)
Yeah, he's lied to me about little things. It doesn't bother me because he's the WORST liar in the whole world and the few times he's lied I knew right away. I've lied to him about little things, too. I'm no angel, he's no angel and as long as nothing important is being lied about, I think it's a part of life. He's NEVER lied to me about where's he's been, what he's been doing or who he's been doing it with. AND he's never lied to me about anything involving money. So those are the things that I think we would both get upset about it the other lied about.

he told me when we first met that he didn't smoke or was a social smoker. a month into the relationship, i'd be with him and he'd say that he needed a cig. finally, he admitted that he smoked. when we initially met, i mentioned that i didn't like smokers and wouldn't want to date a smoker. so he lied because he wanted to be with me. poor guy. but he is still smoking!!!!!!!!! i never wanted smoker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to add to my response that I am sitting here trying to think of WHAT JT has lied to me about in the past. I know he has, but I really can't think a specific thing. It's been very seldom in the five years we have been together. If he DOES lie, it probably has something to do with going over his parents' house, like, 'Oh we'll only stay an hour!' Then three hours later I'm ripping my hair out on their livingroom floor

Yeah I don't really think there's been much either. the ONE thing I can remeber is when we were 17 or 18 and he was saying how he had no money to buy me this and that, and then he bought an N64 behind my back and tried to hide it form me. I got SO pissed when i found out. I took a magic marker and drew sad faces all over it and wrote something about lying being bad..LOL REAL mature, I know
