No, thankfully because I was fortunate to be able to have the wedding I wanted with the extras I wanted. I see beautiful brides, with beautiful weddings and I am happy for them...but I feel like mine was perfect for me.

nope! I wanted a small wedding and everything to be simple. the only thing i splurged on was the chocolate fountain and that was enough! Its one day I can't fathom spending tons of money for it...ours was fine as is...we had all our family and friends that we cared about there and that is what really matters.

Not at all. You have to just go with what you like and with what you can afford. To me what is most important is good music, and drinks. That is what makes everyone have a great time.

Oh yeah and the bride and the groom.

No bc regardless of how much money I had I would feel like it is a waste. I rather have a large home one day then a expensive wedding.

Same here. At some point enough is enough....thats different for everyone oh course... I might have done a few small things differently if we had a little extra money...but nothing significant.

Not really jealous, it would just be SO much easier doing the planning if cost wasn't an issue.

I agree completely!

Yes I agree too..Also .when I was planning I was jealous...BUT now that the wedding has passed we really had the wedding of our dreams! And to hear people compliment it really makes me so happy....I am so glad that I did things like program and menus myself....our guests could not believe I did it...and that made me proud!

yeah I was like 'Some of these responses don't make sense' cause they were past brides talking about what they want in their future wedding!

old posts can be amusing though!

I do wish at times I had alittle more money to upgrade cocktail hour, on seat covers or a chocolate fountain. But I don't so I guess I have to do without I try not to watch platium weddings because those brides have alot of money so they rub it in alittle on tv. I am happy with the hall and the vendors I choose, so I know this wedding is what FH and I want not what others want.

the only thing that makes me wonder is what kind of wedding we would've had if we didnt have 450 people. we spent alot of money on our wedding, and there's alot of things i would've loved to have splurged on (ie. flowers, dress, decor, etc.) but couldnt because of the number of people that attended.

Not really...sometimes I get jealous of people who have weddings places where I wish I'd checked out, like vineyards and stuff.

Re: Do You Ever Get a Little Jealous...

I got the wedding of my dreams and it was expensive. If I had carte blanche, I would have gone over the top and would not have blinked an eye at it. I always said that if you don't go into debt to pay for a function, then go for it. Many of us cannot conceive of the kind of money it takes to make a 'platinum' wedding. But as I have also said, we live in NY close to the city where there are debutantes and socialites that come from families worth billions. If my family was worth billions, I'd have had a million dollar function too. We simply cannot conceive of that type of thing because it is way out of our realms of existence. However, it is hardly something to be jealous of.

What I ENVY are the girls who had both parents in good health at their weddings. I would have given back every flower and every organza bow tied to a chair and every check written to us if my father could have walked me down the aisle. Just as long as we had pigs in a blanket.

Here's what I'm trying to say:

I get a little jealous when I see people who have these very extravagant weddings - I just wish that money was never an object, b/c then I'm sure things would be different.

ie: have you seen some weddings (most especially Joey Fatonne's) at the Oheka Castle?

My question (remarks) previously had nothing to do with any regrets for the decisions made for my wedding. I know that our wedding day will be exactly how we've set it up to be and it'll be one of the most memorable aspects of our lives. I cannot stand to spend a lot of money on things just b/c there are things higher on the list of priorities where that money will be going.

I absolutely feel the same way. There were definitely times during this wedding process - and I enjoyed all of it - that I wish money were no object and I didn't have to find what I wanted for less money or could just rent out a beautiful place for a weekend and have all my family and friends. Who wouldn't want that? I'm getting married to the man of my dreams and that's really all that matters but yes, sometimes I with that money were no object If I had it to spend I hope that I still wouldn't be a Bridezilla like those girls though! LOL
