sometimes i sigh when i read reviews because you put it well...when it seems money isn't an object for some i want to scream because i have researched and researched to get nice stuff at the lowest cost and cut lots of corners. At times it would be great to click the mouse and press 'BUY NOW' when i see something i love, lol!
However.....I quickly remind myself how lucky i am to be marrying who i'm marrying and for all we have. I have a terrific family (both sides) who have contributed so much for our wedding in all ways. Our wedding will be beautiful like all weddings are....i'm marrying the guy of my dreams, what could be better??
Some of the most amazing reviews in my eyes haven't even been the ones that seemed to be a huge fortune. They were the ones where the couple just looked glowing and so in love.

i definitely get jealous of other people's weddings, but not for how much money they spent, but for other reasons...
for instance i get jealous of girls who have like 8 friends in their bridal party... i only have one real friend as a bridesmaid, and my sister is my moh who i barely get along with and my FSIL is the other bridesmaid and we barely have a relationship either...
i get jealous of people who had engagement parties, when my mom said i could not have one...
i get jealous of people who have great taste and found the perfect dress and perfect everything...
most of all i get jealous of people who have the help of others involved in planning the wedding... no one has helped me so far at all. I am jealous of people who look happy planning when i am so miserable...

Not really. I think it's just stressful to try to have the wedding you want and try to keep the costs as low as possible. So far I've splurged 2 places and I'm trying to compensate in other areas. We just gotta do the best we can. Ultimately, it's just one day...we all know that...and honestly I'm not sure if it costing 100K will make it anymore special.

I understand your feelings about everything, and wedding planning is such an emotional time! Try not to be jealous about this one (the e-party); how meaningful is that really? The thought of having one never crossed my mind. Perhaps you could use this time to try to strengthen the relationships you have with your friends and sister. My sister who is my MOH and I had a HUGE blowout at Christmas, but we were finally honest about our feelings then. Maybe you could try to have a heart to heart with yours? It's taken us months to fix things up, but now we are much closer, and I am so excited that she is my MOH.
Myself....I am totally jealous of all the skinny, tan brides I see!!!!! And I wish I had twice as much money, so that I could really have the wedding of my dreams. Still, I have the man of my dreams, and he's all that counts in the end!

I think I am jealous of anyone that is doing it and doesn't feel the pinch of spending it all..
this is exactly how I feel too! So I guess i'm envious of people who have so much money to spend on wedding, not so much the actual weddings that people are having!

I am having my dream wedding, but it has taken us so long to get it. Me and fh have been engaged for 4 years, will be 5 when the wedding comes. Nobody has helped me and fh financially with the wedding, so I do get jealous of girls who's parents are paying for all or part of the wedding. But, when the day finally arrives, I know me and fh will be so proud that we did it all on our own.

Nah i haven't been jealous at all reading them. I've loved every vendor we've picked so far. I just get very excited reading theirs, I wish the date was sooner

I do get jealous of brides who have their families and FH's families paying for portions or all of their weddings. Both of our families are strictly middle class all the way. BUt we know they would help us out if they could.
That being said, there is some justice in paying for it ourselves. We get to do what we want and how we want it without the interference of opinions because they're not paying into anything. We're doing ourselves so it's our day, our way!!!
I do wish I had more people to invite. Neither of us has a big family, and I don't have that many friends because too many times I've been backstabbed. We're not going to invite people for the sake of inviting them.
My only other gripe?? That we didn't just elope and get married in Vegas!!! That's what I originally wanted but FH was the one who insisted on the wedding. But right now I wouldn't have it any other way.

no i don't get jealous.
my wedding isn't just about the party...it about my relationship with FH, and he's MINE, ALL MINE!!! so nothing to be jealous about! i don't care about chocolate fountains and vienesse hours and other things that cost money.
i'm proud of all the ways i've saved money for FH and me to use on our future lives together.
i would love if my family could pay for it, but i'm not jealous.

JessicaM - I am jealous of that dress! It's awesome! I already ordered mine...Don't get me wrong, I love it, but that neckline is so nice!
In all seriousness...I don't think I get jealous of anyone else's wedding bc I feel like I am having the wedding of my dreams, but I also envy people that do not have to think twice about money. If I were in that position...I too would definitely still have mine at the same place, but on a Saturday night instead of Friday.

nope. I am so proud of myself that I talked down my hall to an amount so low they wont let me tell anyone... I shopped very carefully for cheaper vendors who also do the same great job. (Thanks to you)
Dont you worry about money. I spent less than $30 and my wedding was AWESOME.
