How big is theis freaking Island?

I assume the other sites were not on the Island. But the filmstrip guy did say, soemthign to the effect of, we decided to set up a station here, once we noticed the electromagnetic field on this part of the Island. So. . .it seems they were already somewhat famialr with the Island?

What is the difference in the symbols? I'm not sure I saw screen caps of that.

Yes--I found one --it is different. I didn't realize that last week.

Little tidbit: My cousin was an extra in Lost last night! He was one of the members of the support group that Locke was in. He lives in Hawaii, so maybe there was a casting call for extras or something...

What exactly is a Skinner box?

Ahh, this one I can answer.

It was BF Skinner's (behaviorist) brain child. basically a box that distributed food alternately to his subjects (usually rats) when they ... yup, you guessed it! PUSHED A BUTTON.

Damn you guys beat me to it! I was just going to say, one of the major thing I noticed was that BF Skinner was mentioned. Being a psychologist myself, I know a lot about this guy. He did a lot of wacky stuff...including experimenting by putting his own child in a skinner box! So while it seems really odd to think that this may all be a huge experiment, it seems that it is the clear answer.

Then again has the obvious answer always been the right one? Not until the Lost producers read all these websites and suddenly decide to change the story line to start wiping people out every time the button isn't pushed...lol.
