I think its above average. Mine will be about 32,000 with rings and honeymoon!

Re: is this average?
I think that is a bit much. I feel like the average price is about $25,000-$35,000. My fiance's parents are giving us $15,000 and his aunt is giving us $6,000 so the rest is for us to pay for. With rings and honeymoon involved, it will be around $38,000 total.
*If i could make a few suggestions because i've been to a $100,000 wedding and i can tell you whats too much.
-Please don't spend too much on invitations (remember... they'll only be thrown in the garbage). -If you do favors, only have one favor. Most people won't even remember to take them or what they were a few weeks later. -Only have one photographer (having more than one photographer will only give you repeat photos and will be a waste of money). -Don't go over board on centerpieces. Sometimes simpler is nicer. (my friends wedding had those centerpieces that you see in the magazines that are about $1000 a piece that are really tall and round. I felt that they got in the way of seeing the person across from you and your guests can't enjoy or take them home afterward because its just not practical). They were too big and you had to untie them to take them down. Plus, they're round... you can't exactly put them in a vase when you get home.
I can't think of any others right now, but i've been to both a $100,000 wedding and a $10,000 wedding. I find that some of the lower end weddings were actually nicer and that sometimes less is more. I hope this helped.

It's all relative... if you are comfortable with the number, then it is not too much. If you are feeling a little uneasy, then maybe think about where you can cut corners. But don't sacrifice anything you do not want to! It is your day

I think it all depends on what time of year you're getting married, where you're having in and how many ppl are involved. Also day of the week is a huge factor. We're getting married in November on a Sunday so that dropped our price quite a bit. Our budget is $20K for 75 ppl. That includes everything but the honeymoon.

There are plenty of ways to cut costs!!
I think 25K-35K is about average for a wedding in NY. Slightly higher costs depend on a location.
We're paying for everything ourselves, and when all is said and done, it's going to run us in the ballpark of about 22-25K including HM for about 85-90 people. However, we were looking for deals in some areas, and not cutting costs in others.

62k does not seem like an average number to me. I don't know anyone in my whole life who has paid that much. I know what Atlantica costs so even if you were having 200 people, it still wouldn't come near to 62k..no clue why it would be so much but the flowers and other vendors must be costing 20k or so.

62k for how many guests?
I am budgeting about 30k for 175 guests which includes tax and tip but excludes our wedding rings and honeymoon.
thats where we are at.

I can't believe they're charging you over $200 per person! I actually had called about the same day, only I later chose 10-22 instead and they qouted me $140 a person with all the extras. Maybe you should call them and tell them you think you're being overcharged?! I would! Good luck!

No...I meant I called about 10/21 and they qouted me $140..I later decided to get married on 10/22 [my FH owns a business and was afraid he would actually have to work on a saturday!!!] and we booked the three village inn instead. I seriously think you should talk to them about what they charged you. It's a huge difference from what I was qouted. Gorgeous place though. Perfect place for a Saturday wedding.

We actually wanted to customize ours and we had heard that their seafood was excellent so we were going to have a lot of that..we wanted the smoked fish and we liked the shellfish display option. We were going to have the kebab station and a pasta station, the carving stations and ice sculptures and the viennese tables. That was it I think. What did you decide on?

so were you actually quoted on all that? i highly doubt that, maybe you were confused...the seafood station alone is like a $20 pp upgrade. i think the $140 you were quoted was the base price. the basic menu price we were quoted was around there i believe

Re: ..
I really thought that was what she said. It was a woman but I can't remember her name. And I could swear she said $140 a person [plus tax and service charge]. I also looked at Trumpets at the Gate and they wanted $125 a person and I remember saying to FH that Atlantica gives so much more for the money. Trumpets didn't offer any upgrades really.

I have to agree with princes... I was quoted $254 before tax and grats for a Saturday in Sept.

I agree too. I got quoted a little less than $140 for a Saturday day (not even the evening!) during the summer season (and I remember thinking how much cheaper the day was than the night)
