Harrison House?
One of my best friends got married there in September 2000 and my FH and I looked into it for our wedding (but found it to be out of our budget because of their high minimums for a Saturday night). Anyway, it is a truley gorgeous place to have a wedding at. Not only are the outside grounds gorgeous for a wedding, the inside also provides awesome backdrops. My friend had her cocktail hour outside by the pool, but the only complaint I had about that was in September, the yellowjackets made it impossible to keep food on your plate or a drink in your hand. Way too many for my liking, but you can't blame that on the HH, can you? My friend also had a small Saturday afternoon wedding, and thus didn't use the side room for the band. Rather, the band was at the front of the room, right as you walk in from the hall way. They laid out a wodden dance floor and the table were set up in and around the curved area with all the windows. There was no problems for this particular setup. But when we looked at it, the woman, Jewel, explained to us that for larger weddings, the band is off to the side to make more room for tables. I guess it depends on how many guest you are expecting. Good Luck. BTW, my parents are going to a wedding there on the 17th. I'll see what they have to say.

Harrison House?
We also looked at Harrison House, and while it is beautiful, it is very $$$, and I didn't like the setup. I felt that all the separate rooms would make certain guests feel isolated from the party. We chose a different venue so that all our guests and our entertainment could be together. Good luck!

My opinion....
I looked there too. I say go for it - I thought the place was perfect - We chose Carlyle on the Green - b/c of lacation - but if it had been closer to us I would of considered it. Plus, I got a better deal at Carlyle but I thought that was one of the best places out there by far!!!

If you can stand one more opinion...
My best friend got married there - eek -10 years ago! I see on your profile that you''re planning a holiday wedding. She got married December 28! The Christmas decorations were up and it looked stunning!! I always said it was the best wedding I ever went to...until mine, 3 1/2 weeks ago, of course! :) She had just over 200 people and it was fine with the band. I''m sure you won''t be disappointed if you book there! Best of luck!

my cousin was head chef there since the mid 80s, but recently left when the marriot or hilton took it over...I don't know if this makes a difference - this happened less than a year ago.
