But I am always strapped for cash. So I recommend you think about the other ways you can spend that money.
You can probably put the money to better use.

Step away from the watch!
Honestly, if you do not wear watches all the time, then you'll likely end up keeping the watch in a box after the initial lust period wears off. My FH bought me a verrrrry nice watch as my birthday and Christmas gift (same day!), but I wear it everyday. Remember that you are planning a wedding and everything that comes along with it.
My advice is to wait two weeks and if you are still in love with the watch, then talk it out with your FH and get more of his opinion. Then decide.

Re: Someone talk me down from the ledge!
It depends how strapped for cash you are. A watch is something you wear a LOT, so $400 isn't unreasonable considering how many 'wearings' you'll get out of it. I wear my watch every single day, so it was totally worth the cost (about $200, I think), and probably many times the cost, even.
So, if you can afford it, you love it, you hate most watches so it's not likely that you're going to find another affordable one anytime soon, and you need one, buy it. Google it first though and see if you can find it cheaper. Check on eBay. You might be surprised! I've found many things cheaper online, saved myself a bundle.

Wait for 1 month. If it's still there, get it.
Or wait for a big celebration to get it. Birthday, etc..

Why do you need a watch. There is a clock at the bottom right corner of your monitor

Re: Someone talk me down from the ledge!
hate to say it, but I'd probably get it.... Keep searching... don't only go to stores, also go online.... you'll likely find something you even like more, or the same watch at a better price....
oh, and let me endorse my favorite watch company.... Boccia titanium! http://www.teno.com/boccia.html
good luck!

Re: Someone talk me down from the ledge!
I love Michelle watches, but they are expensive. I asked for one for x-mas and my fiance proposed x-mas eve, so I figured I wasn't getting the Michelle watch, but he got me a really nice Guess watch. Just think, you could get a $100 watch and put the rest toward your photograpgher or dj.
