BESIDES ppl get over it...Ive heard negative things about my RH as did everyone else...I didn't mind but it did raise concerns for me and did help for me to figure out from ahead of time how to solve the problem.
oh no was it a problem with your wedding specifically or with the actual place and it might happen to other brides there....??? can i know lol
Sorry I am sooo nosey when it comes to my vendors but that is because it helps us out...negative things are definitely good things to hear because it does help you fic the situation for your own wedding. i mean come on now if there was never a bad review about a place i might be a little concerned because not everyone likes every vendor.....
but i mean hopefully your friend wasnt hurt by it if she saw it and i agree with jenn i would be calling the place up not getting mad at everyone else who told me my RH sstunk with service etc...
UH OH lol be careful...you are crossing one review with another one possibly LOL That seems dangerous!

IT WASN'T about food or service just about noise level and stuff like that
yea i mean i tasted the food there and it is wonderful and the service from what i heard is great so i thought it might be something else...when you mean noise level is it due to other weddings going on and the DJ/Band can only play at a certain noise level??

Re: Why ask for a review....
Kristina -- is your friend even on LIW?? Everyone seems to be upset that 'your friend might read your review.'
I thought your review was helpful, informative and well written. I agree with you -- if we sugar coat everything, how will people know what to address with their BM and RHs??

Honestly, I can care less what you wrote, my wedding is not at the thatched cottage. My main problem with your post was if the bride from that wedding ever saw it, she would be devastated. We are all putting our heart and soul into planning our weddings. Who wants to come on here to read that it was terrible? I just think it is one thing to be honest and it is another thing to be brutal. Believe, I am as angry as the next person when a negative review is taken down but I did read this particular thread and I do think it was kind of mean. I do appreciate honesty but if someone wrote that about my wedding I would be really upset.
I agreed with Jess in the other thread and I'll agree with her again

Re: Why ask for a review....
wow! what did i miss??? listen...a review is a review....people don't always agree, what makes one happy may not please another.....look at how many times a movie was given a crappy review but YOU loved it?? How many times has your car been voted best of the year, but I hated it?? This is life. If we were all happy with the same things, we'd be really boring and miserable. I think it's great that we have the ability to come on here and talk to eachother about all of this stuff. Personally, idk how i'd plan this wedding without you guys. I've been inspired, i've learned what questions to ask, what to say to vendors and so much more JUST FROM READING POSTS...ESPECIALLY REVIEWS. Now...it's 7:33 and obviously i can't even find this post to read it, but so long as it was done *TASTEFULLY* i'm sure there is no problem with it. Would your friend be hurt if she read it? I have no idea bc i didn't see it. Saying the food wasn't enough or phenomenal isn't exactly a life altering event. People are all working in different budgets, time frames, etc. One wedding at TTC may be night and day from another wedding there. For instance--the other day i went to Giorgios with my sister---she is getting married there in November. My parents and my whole family are big on italian food and my parents RAAAAAAAAAAVED about this place. I figured i'd go and see what all the hype was about. Honestly, I was less then impressed. A lot of brides who went said the food was great, and to be honest, i thought everything that had sauce had that 'tangy' taste to it which i don't think represents what great italian food is. I asked my sister if this was what the food was like last time and it was hard for her to say bc she's a vegetarian and ate the same exact food as last time. When i spoke her FH, he said he thought the food was pretty yucky as opposed to the last two times they were there. So 2/3 they were great...this time, not so much. But i told her what was kind of 'eh' or not so great....she knows what to speak to them about to make sure it doesn't happen at her wedding. She's glad i gave her my opinion. I believe you can tell someone anything you want......................as long as you say it the right way.

Re: Why ask for a review....
i read the review, and i believe you focused mostly on the food and the staffing issues. i don't recall you saying one bad thing about the bride, or the guests, or the decor, or anything related to the bride's planning. what you reviewed seemed to be things BEYOND the bride's control. i appreciate your honest review and i would hope that if someone went to a wedding at bridgeview and was unhappy that they would post about it so i could see it, takes notes and not have the same things happen to me!! kudos to you for posting and HONEST and EXCESSIVELY REQUESTED review!!!

Re: Why ask for a review....
I think you should be honest. I don't think its harsh its the way you felt and I think that ppl should be thankful that you weren't afraid to lie. If my hall was like that I would panic but I would talk to them and tell them that someone had a bad experience at a wedding and I want to make sure it wont happen to me at mine. It wasn't like you said the place is ugly and cheap and a horrible wedding place. You just commented on the things that CAN be helped such as service and food.

Re: Why ask for a review....
I HEAR YOU ON THIS ONE!!! i don't get why we can't give an OPINION. these boards are getting to be horrible....if you don't want to hear the truth about your places, then don't ask for opinions!!!!!! absolutely absurd!
also, if you're so insecure about your places that you need reassurance, then why did you book with them????? it's beyond me....

Re: Why ask for a review....
I agree, we should all be able to post reviews - good or bad. That is the PURPOSE of this board, and it is also how many of us come to pick our vendors.
BUT, if something was SO BAD...you might want to be really careful about how you word it OR you might want to FM people/let people know you'd rather discuss via FM. I had a bad review of some vendor, and someone posted asking for advice. I straight told her I'd rather discuss it via FM, and we did FM each other back and forth. Other girls also FM'ed me and I told them the problem as well. I only did this because I didn't want to upset anyone already booked AND i knew that the type of girl that doesn't want to hear bad news would NOT send me FM.
ETA: I never got to see your original post, so I don't have an opinion personally on whether it was 'that bad.'
