I appreciated your review!
I am getting married there, and was a little upset to hear about some of the things reported, but glad that you did post an honest review.

I reviewed like anyone else did. I would be so thankful to have that sort of heads-up. RH's work hard to keep up a good rep...all it takes is one call from you to say you heard something bad and they'll bend over backwards to make you happy. You can only benefit from this. I'm glad it was helpful.

I honestly think reviews both good and bad are one of the most helpful parts of this site and though your review wasnt glowing it was honest and helpful......I dont think there was anything at all wrong with it... though when people are reading reviews they need to respect that what is important to one is not so important to another ....thats why there are so many levels of venues and types.......a review isnt gospel its an oppinion and should be respected as such!

Honestly, I can care less what you wrote, my wedding is not at the thatched cottage. My main problem with your post was if the bride from that wedding ever saw it, she would be devastated. We are all putting our heart and soul into planning our weddings. Who wants to come on here to read that it was terrible? I just think it is one thing to be honest and it is another thing to be brutal. Believe, I am as angry as the next person when a negative review is taken down but I did read this particular thread and I do think it was kind of mean. I do appreciate honesty but if someone wrote that about my wedding I would be really upset.

Well, nothing I said was mean or cruel. For God's sake, she's my friend! I was reviewing the RH..not HER or HER plans. So what SHE chose the place....I'm sure each one of our RH's have had their share of good nights and bad nights. To say I was brutal..that's a bit of an overstatment. I'm as honest as anyone else on here...somethings I read from people's 'honest opinions' directly negate what I think or what I've done, but in a forum you can't take stuff like that to heart and go bashing them for it. I mean, we share prices and ideas all the time....unless we were open-minded and open for opinions, this would be a war zone!

AMEN sister! I mean, you could've been at the same party and thought it was an A+ place....in my personal opinion, comparing it to places I've worked/been to....the service stunk. Not my fault or an TC brides on here....just a heads up!

Look, you're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine, I just think that the bride would have been hurt if she read that, I think any of us would have. If you don't have a problem with the review you wrote then more power to you and put it back up. I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just trying to explain why the comments that made you angry on your previous post were made.

I just feel we all have oppinions and they arent always going to be the same and we are all going to see things through different eyes ...whats inportant to one may mean nothing to another.....and we should all respect eachothers right to an oppinion you dont have to like their oppinion but you dont have to tear them apart for it either

YEAH i think this is what the problem was. Being honest is very helpful to the brides...but imagine if she read that review, and how she would feel. If i went to a wedding and didn't like the food i would say i didnt care for the food and service was bad so def talk to them about this. Theres different ways to say things for example ' no sorry i dont like your shoes' or 'omg those are the ugliest things ive ever seen, ugh how did you even walk out of the house with them on'

Also maybe look for other positive things about the wedding bc it was just one bad thing after another, i would wonder if everyone had a horrible time at my wedding, bc it would've seemed just like one big disaster.

I think its great that you were honest in the review, but it can send some brides in a panic...Yes they can talk to the RH about the problems but it might not necessarily be fixed...obviously the workers are supposed to do their job a certain way but didn't so it might not make a difference for BM to say oh do your job tonight. Also the way the food is brought out if that is their system they might not change it just for one wedding if someone requests it.

but i also dont think you need to keep important information out, im sure you info can help other brides out.

Re: Why ask for a review....

I am sure that tons of people will have plenty to say about my wedding..am I going to gripe and complain about it, no? I mean, how many girls here are using pink as their BM colors and then how many girls on here hate pink for BM colors? If this was a 'let's get mad at someone with another opinion/view' forum, then I'd understand. All I know is this taught me a valuable lesson.....no more reviews. Flowers/Hair/Makeup/Bridal Stores/RH's/Churches......I feel bad for future brides who rely on this stuff.

i am confused i read the post and it didnt seem that harsh ... basically you said that you felt there wasnt enough food during cocktail hour and there wasnt enough service and you werent to fund of the food am i missing something how was this at all harsh it was your opinion was it because you gave something an F ?? i have heard things bad and good about my vendors theres nothing i can do about it ... not everyone will like someting you like ... i think everyone should be able to say how they feel ... nobody actually has to agreee to what everyone says!

I thought it was a good review. It was honest and honesty is the best policy. And like I said in that thread, maybe they were just having an off night.

Agreed....that's why it took over a week and tons of requests to post a review. I didn't know how to say what I wanted to say. I even read tons of posts under Bride's Review to figure out how to do it. So, I copied what they did and how they did it. I wish it were a 100% happy review....but it wasn't. I know that brides who have booked there probably read that and panicked....I'm sorry if it caused that turmoil. However, USE it to your advantage. Call...nervous...worried.....you'll benefit from it!

OK.. I can't read it cause it was deleted, but I do see how people are upset just because should the bride stumble upon this, it will break her heart. At my eparty for the first hour and a half, all FH and I worried about was if our guests were having a good time. Maybe you just be more confidental about whose wedding it was. However, a review about a place good or bad is the purpose of this forum, or so I thought.
