Thank you...that's what I thought.

Harsh or not, honesty cannot be sugar-coated. How nicely can you say, 'Service stunk and food was OK'? Really...

uhoh...was someone not happy with your review...I read it and it just seemed honest

See..am I wrong that I'm being somehow bashed for being honest?

1-It might hurt her feelings to see how little you thought of her wedding.

2-Did you even have fun at the wedding.
EVERY single thing you bittched about.

I do hope that your friend does not read these boards cause im sure she will be real upset at what you thought of her wedding...wich apparently isnt much

3-I think it's good that you were honest, but it was a little harsh.

4-Agreed, I'd feel like the person was being a little ungrateful <----agreed by another

Heck yah! I'd want to talk to my banquet manager and make sure there are enough workers to work however many people are at my wedding.

Wow... I didn't read your original post, but I think this was 'a little harsh.' Sometimes its better to sugar coat everything, because tone is not expressed via typing.

i'm starting to get really annoyed by the fact that people can't post negative reviews on these boards.
if they arent being censored by the owners, they are being deleted by the OP b/c other people get mad at them.

it's ridiculous.

isnt the point of this website to help plan your wedding and help you make informed decisions? how can you make informed decisions when the only info you can or want to look at is the good stuff?

unfortunately the point is that some people are already booked and their weddings are all planned.

so if i read a review on MY hall i would really be helpless to change anything and it would send me into a panic

i do agree that it could be helpful for brides who have not yet booked

for me personally, i dont care what people write about my vendors bc i have faith in them . . . but i do understand why some brides get upset.

also, when i attend weddings of family and friends i tend to focus more on the actual wedding and what it means so i may not notice all of this other stuff

I agree. Don't get me wrong, if somone wrote a negative review about my RH, I'd write down the stuff and talk to my manager about it. I'd make sure he knew that I was afraid that the same would happen to me, work out some kind of a plan to assure everything is better and maybe ask for some free stuff since I'm 'scared' now I mean, honestly. If we all have to avoid 'hurting' someone with honesty, why don't we just lie every two seconds and defeat the purpose of a forum?

I appreciated your review!
I am getting married there, and was a little upset to hear about some of the things reported, but glad that you did post an honest review.

I totally agree with you.

And I'd like to add: even if you (a general 'you' not directed at anyone) have already booked a vendor that you hear a bad review about wouldn't it HELP due to the fact that you could prevent the same thing from happening at your wedding??

Re: Why ask for a review....

I didn't plan on writing a review like that, but was asked over and over again...FM and threads..so I finally did it. Next time I know to give everyone A's and say it was perfect..I mean, what good would that do?

i understand brides who are already booked getting upset, but at the same time, a negative review would give them a chance to discuss possible issues with their venue or vendor.

i didnt read the original post, so i can't judge exactly, all i'm saying is that if you want reviews posted on this site at all you have to expect and accept that there will be bad along with the good.

I didn't read the original post and im not going to bash you now, but from the comments and knowing how honest most girls on LIW specially 08'rs are if they said it was a bit harsh they just meant maybe you could've said it differently. Imagine you have put so much time and energy in making things perfect for your guest and then you find something like this. She might not take it personal but would be hurt that her wedding was reviewed like that.

I bad review is fine but with pictures??? of her wedding???

Re: Why ask for a review....

Actually a woman I worked with went to the Woodlands after my orginal BM left and she gave me a negative review. I wasn't mad at her, but I called them up, met with a new BM, and discussed how I was feeling!

Re: Why ask for a review....

Honestly, I can care less what you wrote, my wedding is not at the thatched cottage. My main problem with your post was if the bride from that wedding ever saw it, she would be devastated. We are all putting our heart and soul into planning our weddings. Who wants to come on here to read that it was terrible? I just think it is one thing to be honest and it is another thing to be brutal. Believe, I am as angry as the next person when a negative review is taken down but I did read this particular thread and I do think it was kind of mean. I do appreciate honesty but if someone wrote that about my wedding I would be really upset.
