i'm sorry, that really *****. i'll have been engaged for a little over 2 years until my wedding. i can understand where you're coming from. it's like tacking on another year to it. everything will work out though. now you can focus on finding a job in ny and relocating. good luck with everything!

Re: I just might cry

I would talk to FH....after all this planning, NOW he tells you he wants to live together first???? that sounds fishy to me. . . . it sounds like he may be a little nervous about the wedding and not ready to get married yet... or maybe he just wants to live together and then never get married.

Hate to sound harsh, but that was how i read it...... i would have a talk with him... if it's just you not having a job yet, that will come, i don't think that's a reason to postpone the wedding (unless you just can't afford it otherwise)

GOOD LUCK!

I don't quite understand--you're postponing the wedding because you can't live together first? Why do you have to live together first? It's not as if the few months before the wedding are a good test of how married life and living together is going to be--just the wedding planning is incredibly stressful, without all the extra stress of moving and starting a new job. If you're ready to be married, you shouldn't have to live together first. If your FH isn't sure you're ready to be married and need to live together first, then you shouldn't be so far along in the wedding plans. You shouldn't be finding this out a few months before the wedding.

Are you sure this is about living together? And it's too bad about your FSiL being due at that time, but lots and lots of weddings have gone ahead with bridal party members who were pregnant, whether they could or couldn't make the wedding.

I think you need to have a long, and very honest conversation with your FH about exactly why you're putting off the wedding. If you were OK with it, that would be one thing, but you're obviously not. Getting married shouldn't be so hard. Good luck! I hope everything works out.

you will get through this!! i am impressed by the maturity of your decision, as hard as it was to make. you will still have an amazing wedding, and now that so much is done, a lot less stress come next december!!

i wish you all the best in your job search!!
