Re: FMILs are pains...

If it means a lot to your FH, I would. But just try to stay away from her the morning of the wedding so that you don't upset yourself. You seem to not be too fond of her and you don't want to start off your day upset. But don't forget... you are marrying him and she is going to be part of your family regardless....

might as well invite her- she is his mother and it will be a nice gesture.

Talk with your Fh and let him know why you are feeling un-obligated to have her there and see what he would do- it doesnt mean you have to change your mind. But if you do, I think she will be excited and most likely no a Mom-in-law-zilla

Yes...you should invite her!

i was worried about that too. FH's parents seem to be in the same financial state as yours.

I go by this rule: I try to include them as much as possible. If they dont have the money for something we are doing then they should be adult enough to just tell me so and we can go from there.

good luck!

I would. Let her figure out if she can afford it. If she bothers u that day (which hopefully she won't) just try to stay away from her.

Wouldn't she want to be with her son while he's getting ready? Where is FH getting ready?

yup i agree.... even though you might dislike her, she's still fh's mother and he'd appreciate any effort.

Like it or not she is going to be part of your family soon. I think you have to pick your battles so you have to decide if this is one you want to have....

Why would the mother of the groom want to get ready with you?

She should stay home with her son, the groom.

Regardless of FSIL being in the wedding party.

I think it's the right thing to do so that she doesn't feel left out anymore. It could only help in the end.

I have some advice having experience with dealing with a MIL and SIL during my wedding plans...Be up front....make sure your opinion is known...tell your FH how you feel about how your FMIL has acted in the past with you and your parents...make sure he speaks to his Mom and tells her to not cause any drama...I wish I did this...would have saved me a lot of grief...

Good Luck....

There is no way in H E LL that my FMIL is going to get ready with me and my BP on my wedding day. It doesn't matter what FH says. If she wants to be involved then she can go to where her son is getting ready and she can help him put on his tie.

THAT's JMHO!!!!

LOL It does seem weird that she would want to get ready with you. I have no idea if my FMIL would want to get ready with me , I never even thought to ask. I'm not her daughter lol. Usually I thought you get ready with your BP and your mother. Weird.

Weird, I kind of thought FMIL would get ready with us...FH won't have a photographer with him while he's getting ready, so I figured he'd just get ready with the boys....FSIL is a BM so she will be with me, and I kinda figured FMIL would be too.....is this not usually the case? FMIL and I get along great so I think I would want her there!

I think you should invite her...if things aren't going well between you and FMIL, you should try to be the bigger person and extend the olive branch...and make it obvious to FH that you are doing this...if she refuses to grow up, FH will be on your side during future arguments and he'll see that she's the only one causing all of the problems..you don't want to contribute to their being any wierdness between your family and his...HTH!
