You have time, so I would just go to the Dr and get a Rx. You can always ask if they have samples available instead of going and paying for the Rx.
ETA: I, personally, wouldn't feel comfortable taking someone else's Rx having never been on BC pills before... I'd want to sit down and discuss with a Dr. which brand would work for me.

Re: Birth control?
I wouldn't take someone elses. Go to your doc and get a prescription. Different types have different effects on people so I would suggest a low doseage one.

Re: Birth control?
You have to be on the pill for at least a month for it to be effective. Also sometimes you have in between period spotting when you first start. I would recommend going to the doc and getting your own prescription a few months before because in the beginning sometimes your body is out of whack.

Re: Birth control?
i dont think taking it for just that month will stop your cycle from coming- talk to you gyn and see what kind of plan you can come up with. i used to work for one and they did help when it came to these things.

go to planned parenthood. I would talk to your Dr. anyway. I don't think it is that expensive without insurance expecially for a generic.

Do you normally go to the GYN every year? If so, like I said above, go and ask if they have samples instead of paying out of the hiney for a Rx.
And like a PP mentioned, it takes 3 months for your body to get used to the pill, so just starting it the month of your wedding wouldn't ensure that you wouldn't get your period (esp. if the pill doesn't mesh with your body. I was on a pill once that made me get my period while I was still taking the pill but I would never get it while I was taking the week of placebo pills).

Each brand is different. With my insurance, I have a deductable so I'm usually paying more than I normally would... but then again, I get samples from the Dr... I make my sister steal them for me b/c she works there! LOL

Re: Birth control?
I wouldn't take someone else's... I had some serious issues with one brand of BC and had to work with my Gyn to find the right one for me... certain ones caused me to bleed ALL MONTH LONG. So, I'd be wary of using someone elses!!
I pay $30 a month for Loestrin FE

Planned Parenthood is a good idea...they may even be able to give you samples for a few months if you explain your situation...
