How old is the mom? If the dog howls and barks till 11.....I'd just go and check on the mom. To make sure the dog and the mom are ok.

Oh Thank Goodness. FH was saying.......'I'm a sucker for a crying dog, do they need a dog sitter?'
We dog sat for 3 weeks for my boss. He loves the chance to hang with dogs, instead of his needy cats!!!!
