I saw this post this morning too and did everything in my power not to respond. When I first joined LIW many 08ers were more than a year away from their weddings and freaking out about small things. We are all guilty of this that's why we are addicted to this site but to start a thread poking fun at the future brides is a tad ridiculous. As many of you already said no one knows our situations and what we need to get done. I had to have a lot finished b/c I have to be off my feet for 2months. I just find it funny lot alot of the negative responses from that thread were made my girls that planned most of their wedding at least a year or more in advance

i responded in that thread. EVERY bride no matter what year you are getting married will stress, and yes we will all have our crazy moments lol, i just saw it as part of the planning process. By 14 months before my wedding i had all my major vendors booked, i also mentioned how alot of it is bc you come on LIW and see what other girls have done and you start to worry lol.

Do brides to be stress a bit too much, and act crazy at times-YES!!!! but how else would you make these planning days memorable

Just continue, but also dont drive yourself TOO crazy...i know i did so many times and then after you're like OK maybe i didnt have to stress myself out that much lol. As long as you also remember to enjoy it a bit, there were months straight where it was all stress and craziness and i didnt enjoy it, it wasnt the stressing little things that i regret but the fact that during some times of the planning i hated it. It is 2 years of your life but 2 years for example is small in comparison to the rest of your life and next thing you know this special time in your life will be over so please remember to have fun with it too and enjoy, you want to look back on your engaged days with a smile. So book vendors way in advance, stress about things you still need to get but have fun at the same time too

and dont take offense to the thread, we're all crazy at one time or another. She was trying to say remember when we stressed so far in advance too, and YES we did the same thing too. Most 08'ers are guilty of the same thing.

Denise I have to say you are one of the reasons I love this site. You are always here to help any bride in any way you can. I got so many great ideas from the research you did for your own wedding. I try not to stress about my day. I just want everything to match so that gets annoying In the midst of the drama I just wanted to say thanks for always trying to shed some light on many of our issues - wedding related or otherwise

and you will continue to stress until the day before the wedding about everything matching. I was doing stuff for my wedding up until 11pm the night before, infact i didnt get my nails and pedicure done until around 11:30pm lol. No matter what anyone says it wont stop you. People would tell me to stop but when i found any free moment i tried to get other things done. In the end i did have to give up the idea of a few things, i was upset before the wedding that i didnt get a custom aisle runner but the day of i didnt care. The only chance i had to box my favors was 2 days before my wedding and it was the day of my rehearsal, so i couldnt do a nice favor tag with monogram in my colors, just put a brown ribbon around the white box. Could it have looked better? YES but that day i didnt care. I did stress it beforehand. So i know no matter what others say it wont change your mind, it didnt change my mind. Everybody has to learn for themself that you will stress every little thing beforehand and the day of you wont care lol, but you wont know this until you go through it yourself.

I had other brides telling me i wont care the day of but it doesnt help. And its the way it should be, you wont really know how true this is unless you stress about it before lol. Just TRUST me and dont be like me where youre still doing stuff until 11pm the night before your wedding, and then up until 1am still getting mani, pedi and waxing done lol...Infact i didnt even have time to do my roots and had to do a toner quickly at 9am the day of my wedding. Make sure you at least try to enjoy the day before, make it a relaxation day.

I have to say one thing- in response to her 'editing' the thread, if she didn't start the thread to hurt anyones' feelings, well then why would she edit it? Makes no sense to me. Whatever. And the fact that she was looking for DOJ early. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh well. What ya gonna do? Hey people, can we all forget this and talk about happy things?

oh yeah ppl probably are thinking what salon did i go to ...no luckily my mom has been in the business for over 20 years and has owned her own salons. So i never go to salons to get mani's and pedi's and waxing done. I get it all done at home by my mom or go into the city where she is. I dont trust anyone but my mom with my eyebrows even if i was done early that day, i would still have had my mom do it all

they should have salons open that late.

And toner for my highlights my mom also did for me quickly at 9am...hair and make up was coming at 10am, but luckily with toner its only 15-20 mins you leave in your hair

Ehh - I guess I'm one of the girls being made fun of since I just posted about my sample invitations this morning. Whatever. I'm starting my second Masters degree in the fall and I wont have time then plus I just like doing things early. I'm pretty set once I make decisions and I dont think I'm 'stressing' over anything at all. Just showing everyone what I'm so happy about.

Also - as far as shoes I'm getting a hollow to hem measurement when they order my dress so I have to have my shoes out a year away from the wedding.

Lots of people are saying hindsight is 20/20 and I know that's true but I dont think talking about future plans necessarily makes you 'stressed' over it.

Not sure if half the post was making fun of my flower thread on BHB or not,,, but whatever to them if it was. My weddings is 8 months away...and im only starting to think about my theme, BM dresses, flowers etc NOW. I dont want to pick a dress w/o any idea of what flowers would go with it. What if they didnt match at all...and I regreted the choice of the gowns? I just wanted IDEAS to get a grip on which dress to pick.
I totally agree with you about hindsight, and the 08ers who called out SPECIFIC threads were being catty to start drama- JMO

You really cannot trust anyone with your eyebows. My cousin did that she went to woman for the first to get her eyebrows threaded in Florida 4 yrs ago it still was not as popular there as it is NY the daybefore her wedding. Major meltdown eyebrows came out horrible she had to pencil them in.

Just an FYI I have almost 6 months to my wedding! I have the right to be stressed if i wish however, im pretty darn good! But still thats why we are here for everone about anything!

I agree! I am so anal with my eyebrows. I just pluck them myself. I used to get them waxed. Big mistake. I ended up looking surprised until they grew in. Then I started getting them threaded. That was good- the Indian place in my town is AMAZING! I always thought Indian girls had the most beautiful eyebrows so why not go straight to the source! But, threading is PAINFUL. So, I stopped and now do them myself.

yeah i just realized that i always say i did it at 11:30pm, and ppl probably thought where the F*CK did she go

yeah its hard bc some ppl dont listen to you, and want to do it their way. Plus i have thick eyebrows, which S*CKS but is also good bc you can shape it well and im always afraid of someone trying to make it too thin

Well i think the person who waxed just wasnt good, there are ppl who wax who do an amazing job. I get waxed and never get the circle only get the arch. There are ppl who just arent good so thats why.
